Moved to Beaufort from Southern California. How how how is internet more expensive in Beaufort, SC than in CA?? Over twice the price. And it’s terrible. Our phones don’t work well here so we really need functioning internet. We’ve had them out to change things for times than I can count. The previous owner put the router in a location that isn’t central to the house. Instead of giving me a new one they wanted to charge me $65 to move it to a good location. I pay through the nose already! But the service was horrible when we lived in a subdivision where this wasn’t the case. And it randomly just… doesn’t work. Get ready to restart the equipment over and over and over. I also love calling to get help and they tell you “that’s such outdated equipment! Why would they leave you with that?! It’s trash. We’ll have them replace it.” To have the techs say “yea that’s our best stuff so…” Or when they mistakenly drill a hole in your floor they didn’t need to then don’t fill it. “Well, we’ll send someone to fix it.” How about giving me a discount for the next month? Read moreAs an Active Duty military member, I’ve had to PCS several times, but my experience with Sparklight (formerly Hargray) in Beaufort, SC has been one of the most frustrating I’ve dealt with in nearly 6 years of being on and off with them.
After paying my final bill and receiving a receipt with a zero balance, I was shocked to see additional charges mysteriously added to my account. No explanation. No logic. Just more money taken for absolutely no reason. It took multiple calls to their customer service—where I practically had to raise my voice to get basic accountability—to fix issues they created. Sadly, incompetence seems to be the norm.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. I truly hope the city of Beaufort and Beaufort County find a better provider, because residents in 29902, 29906, and 29907 deserve far better than this mess of a service.
If you have any other options, stay away from Sparklight. And if anyone from their leadership actually cares, I’d be more than happy to express these concerns to them...
Read moreWe had an install schedule for Jan 8, and the tech came out couldn't install. Schedule the next installation on Jan 14. They were over 2 hrs late and stayed until 7 pm. The technician left and said the maintenance technician didn't adjust the signal correctly. Was told someone should be out the next day. I called on the 15th and waa told the maintenance techs do not give times or etas. This is absolutely the worst customer service . I will be calling today for new providers in my area and canceling the internet service I don't have with Hargray.
They ask you to email, already did before this review. Now I can't cancel service on a weekend because they do not have customer service on weekends literally just told that by Melissa. Then she said I could come Monday to drop off equipment. No you all can come Monday and get equipment. I also will be calling my bank to get my money back, this company takes your money but does not provide service as promised ...
