A Magnificent and Magical Place!
Tucked away down the road from St. Lucie Medical Center is this beautiful gem -- Woodstork Trail/Hillmoor Lake Park.
There is a paved walking trail and bike path that circles the lake. The day we were there was overcast but there were people fishing, cyclists doing their circles, and residents of all ages strolling around the lake.
The park is handicapped friendly with sufficient parking. There are restrooms adjacent to the parking area. Although I did visit the restrooms, knowing the pride of my city of St Lucie, I'm sure they are cleaned regularly.
Do not wade, swim or let your dog test the water. There are alligators present. See photos.
I am proud resident of the city of Port St Lucie. We have a beautiful representation of a city that cares.
Thank you to all the city employees that do their absolute best keeping our city Beautiful! I salute you.

I was filled with too much anxiety and paranoia so I left! I can't understand how people are so negligent when it comes to these prehistoric dangerous animals. Is there not enough stories in the news for these people? A elderly woman just died in our county which made international news because she was eaten by a 10ft gator walking her dog by the water. Beautiful park but the trails are way to close to gator infested water for my comfort. I...
Read moreRefreshing oasis in the middle of PSL’s medical district. It has a 1.8 mile paved multipurpose trail around the lake that frequently floods in the wet season, so be prepared! It has numerous native trees and some Florida friendly exotics, but, unfortunately, invasive non native plants such as Brazilian pepper and rosary pea with its lethal poisonous seeds also abound (see pictures). A healthy variety of birds are visible from the trail, boardwalks and pavilions. Judging by the amount of turtles 🐢 that approach when you stand looking over the water from the observation / fishing decks along the trail, the nice sign warning visitors not to feed wildlife at their entrance has clearly been disregarded...
