I tried to leave emotion out of this review but if you have an important, time sensitive need for an arrangement. This is not your shop. Grief is hard enough without the frustration and disappointment you'll find here. I anticipate a response from this business that takes zero accountability for the following.
I sent an email requesting "2 large loose triangle shaped funeral bouquets in a plastic "urn vase" if possible. Attached is a photo for example. -Red Roses, very white lilies, and the rest red and white flowers with greenery 1 urn arrangement, like the attached picture, if possible. -Soft yellow lilies, the rest white flowers ans greenery." For my Dad's Funeral service on Friday the 22nd and asked that they let us know what we needed to do next.
The next day, Wednesdaythe 20th, I got a call asking when the service was and was told that they'd talked to my Mom about the order. Once off the phone, I saw a text from my Mom also telling me she'd talked to them. So I asked her if they'd discussed a price and she told me that they had quoted her $880.00 for the three arrangements.
We understand that small businesses of this kind take time, skill and materials. So we decided to request that the two larger arrangements be made smaller. We wanted to be respectful of their pricing. Because I was at work, I did have my Mom call back about downsizing. When she called they said that they couldn't downsize the arrangements because they had already started them.
Please keep in mind, at this time, they hadn't collected payment, payment information, or even written confirmation from us that we would be responsible for paying for these arrangements. Despite that, instead of sticking them with the price of the materials they'd bought and going somewhere else, as we could have, we decided to drastically downsize the urn display arrangement to something more affordable. It seemed dishonest to back out.
Also, they sent a photo of the two arrangements which they said was them just getting started on. My Mom responded that they were beautiful under the assumption that they were in fact..just started and not practically done.
The new design for the third arrangement was decided on Thursday the 21st. At that time, I provided my credit card information for payment on the new total of $655. The larger ones were $250 each, the third came down from the original $350 design to a $125 design and an additional $30 for delivery.
We arrived at my Father's service to find that the one approved Thursday was absolutely gorgeous and fresh. The only reason they even received 2 stars is because of this one. The other two arrangements that they'd started Wednesday, were sparce, mostly greenery and more importantly wilting and broken.
I emailed that evening explaining and asking for a reasonable adjustment to our charges for those two specifically. I then had to email a second time a day or two later as they did not respond.
I was told that it took time to find out what happened. Ultimately they told me they were fine when they left, fine when they were delivered and that I needed to seek reimbursement from the Cemetery where they were delivered.
I explained that I found it strange that the arrangement most recently ordered was fresh and the two started multiple days before the service were not. Additionally that had the Cemetery been responsible, that all three wouldn't have been damaged. I also shared frustration that there were so few flowers for what we were charged.
I asked on three separate occasions for a reasonable adjustment to our charges and each time they blamed both myself and the Cemetery.
Here is what I believe I was at fault for. -I did not specifically tell them to give me a quote before going to market and starting our arrangements. I used the word "loose" without clarifying what I meant. I was told that having a lot of flowers in the arrangement would be the opposite of that and thats why it was scarce. -I did not take the time during my Father's Funeral to take pictures of the flowers. (They did...
Read moreLily was nice when originally meeting her and was very adamant about being able to deliver a California poppy bouquet or icelandia poppies (last resort) after lily was paid in full (almost $1000 for 1 med bouquet, 2 small bouquets, 10 single stem centerpieces, 5 boutonnières, and simple greenery around an arch) and just two weeks before my wedding I was told by Lily no one single poppy or type of poppy would be available. I expressed how severely disappointed I was and lily just said she promised to "knock my wedding socks off". In the next two weeks I received about 4 different pictures of flowers ranging from orange to yellow. I advised her absolutely no yellow or red just orange (two weeks before my wedding I could not change my colors to accommodate Lily she knew my colors were orange, silver and white) I also told her yes to one and I told her I didn't like zinnias (another option she sent to me). I had no idea what I was getting until the day of the wedding. Day of she sent me a text saying she dropped off my flowers in the reception room. I went down to lol at them (lily was not there) and so disappointed to see orange zinnias and some other flower that was yellow. I also was not going to let that ruin my day. When photos were to begin I realized lily didn't leave the flower girl headband. I text her at 3:04 asking her where it was. I got a reply at 3:14 stating she was having lunch and she would bring it by as soon as she was done (set up time was 3) at 3:47 I got a text saying she had dropped it off with the front desk. Almost an hour late and an hour from my wedding time so all photos with the flower girl was delayed so Lily could have lunch. Never once did Lily take responsibility for wrong type of flower, wrong color, and being very late. She didn't offer a discount or refund (after paying poppy prices for a cheap zinnia) she didn't make the bouquets bigger or add an additional stem to the centerpieces. Like someone would have expected to have their "wedding socks knocked off". Lilly made a unfortunate growing year for poppies into completely disregarding what I still wanted and doing the complete opposite of what my expectations were. what a a huge disappointment, and an...
Read moreThis place is family owned and they go the extra mile for your arrangement. You can just talk to them and say you like this type of flower and maybe some eucalyptus and those curly twigs, and they will get it perfect and not charge you out your pocket. If you want a bigger bouquet, forego the vase and they will put each stem into a little vial of water to keep them fresh until the receiver can put them in their own vase. No one wants a cabinet full of boring vases anyway- get a bigger boquet! They hand paint the little cards that go with your flowers!!! Amazing little original cards that they include with your order- you can get bigger cards for a reasonable price if you have alot to say, but the little cards are every bit as good as the big ones!
