Penrose Candles — Local services in Portland

I have been enjoying Penrose candles for several years. I've used countless candles from Penrose in my home, and given many others away as gifts. Everything about these candles is nice, but I especially enjoy the quality and super clean appearance. The entire package is very well designed and very appealing. If you have a chance to visit their store in Portland, you'll see as I did how meticulous Penrose is in their attention to asthetic. Everything just looks...nice! And then there's the smell!

Before I found Penrose, I never really enjoyed scented candles. I don't like it when my home smells like a perfume or soap store. I don't enjoy those scents, and I don't like the chemicals used to achieve them. I like that Penrose uses soy wax (paraffin is a patroleum based product) and essential oils in their products. It's just a much better product than what you'd normal find out there.

Overall I am very happy with Penrose candles. I enjoy supporting a small family business who clearly have a passion for the products they make. Take a look at their products and I believe you will see they're putting a lot of heart and soul into everything they offer. It feels...

I travel for a living. One of the small comforts that I bring with me is a small candle, not only to help dissipate weird hotel scents but also to help me relax. A good scent can transport you to a place and time you’d rather be, you know?

These candles are expensive, but in my view, the price is well worth it for the scent of rain and pine in the middle of some dingy city, and a small moment of clarity and peace.

My son bought me a Penrose candle as a gift. At first it was amazing. I looked online to order more. But... it was supposed to last for 24 hours. After 9 hours the wood wick turned into a smoldering coal. No flame whatsoever. The coal is glowing so low I don’t even get the scent of the candle anymore. I will be very surprised if it even lights the next time I set a match to it. So my son got less than one half of what he paid for. That sucks! The candle is now pointless. So disappointed!! I will not be ordering any Penrose candles...
