Frock Boutique — Local services in Portland

All right, the award for quite possibly the worst service experience I've had goes to Frock. I was in there earlier browsing around with my girlfriend when I commented on how much I liked the music choice to the person working the register. Apropos of nothing, the person at the register chimes in to tell me that "you don't look like much of a spender, anyway!"

Was she assuming that I'm poor? Or was she joking that I'm cheap? Unclear. If it was intended to be funny, it failed pretty miserably. If the goal was to drive me out of the store, well, mission accomplished.

It's a shame, because my girlfriend loves the stuff here, and whatever the staff's thoughts on the matter, I do still buy her Christmas and birthday presents. But Portland doesn't really want for cute boutiques, so I'll find somewhere...

The cashier was really friendly when she finally acknowledged us after several minutes of browsing, and the merchandise was a little pricey but contained a lot of really great items. I sweet-talked my husband into buying me a necklace and earring set that I fell in love with, which I immediately had to put on, and then the poorly made dangly earrings fell apart at the hanger which wasn't properly fastened by the maker, and I wound up losing one completely, and the other one fell as well but I was able to recover it. That was a pretty big bummer after spending $62 on the set..just do a quick quality check on the jewelry before you put it on, I guess....

Amazing shop! Such funky and collective items. The prices range so honestly if you’re looking for affordable unique gift, this is the place! Also I just love how unique everything is; I bought a pair of fun pants and will make it a monthly stop!

I do wish they have more plus size options. (They have some) but, I think they’d be very successful carrying more plus items.

I’ve talked to many people about this store and the ONLY concern is carrying more size exclusive shirts! Not sure how that goes when you wholesale clothes for businesses but I think it’d make the boutique 1000% better being all...
