Best view of the city if you're northbound since there are zero obstructions from there. Horrible traffic and bottleneck, however, especially northbound, where there is exit 299B to I-405 just before that and almost everyone is staying on 5 but the way the lanes cut down does not reflect that traffic flow. I'm no advocate for "Just add another lane" but I do think we can design lanes more responsibly, and I think this bridge is a good example of that. Not to mention like half of all those drivers have to get over a lane or 2 into the speeding on ramp from I-405 south to get to I-84. The design needs to be massively revamped to reflect the real traffic flow this bridge gets, and it seems to do everything wrong on that. That being said, I haven't had a lot of problems with southbound. The main bottleneck on southbound 5 is through the central Eastside, and it moves again easily by the time you get to the bridge, so that is fine, but northbound needs some...

It is a massive concrete structure but sometimes you can sneak a glimpse you may catch moments of beauty to the left or...
Read moreIt's pretty to look at and be a passenger through. As a Native Oregon, I always dread having to drive over it. It's tilted in places, windy, very high up, and has fast traffic. I think it would be much better to have a slower speed on the bridge. Unfortunately, to get to Moda, Omsi, or the airport I think you have...
