Greetings, fellow travelers, and welcome... to the Eastbank Esplanade, where the mundanely surreal reigns supreme.

Here, under the cloak of night, a unique brand of entertainment unfolds:

First, we encounter a group huddled around a makeshift screen, their faces illuminated by the flickering glow of a cult classic – Mr. Show.

Just a spittle's throw from this spectacle, a lone woman dances with fire, her movements a blend of grace and danger. Her audience, a modest gathering of four (perhaps five) souls, bears witness to this fiery communion, their faces mildly in awe.

And then, the inevitable: the whispers of illicit pleasures... a clandestine rendezvous unfolds, a furtive exchange of unknown substances, a testament to Portland's reputation as a haven for those seeking escape.

Nearby, another lost soul (eyes dilated and mind adrift) engages in a private communion with their chosen substance.

If that isn't enough, a crude transaction takes place: a sloppy and obvious exchange of goods and currencies.

Finally, we encounter a group of adolescents attempting to capture, on camera, what appears to be their first foray into joint-smoking. A poignant reminder that stupidity abounds!

So, dear traveler, venture forth! Explore the depths of the Eastbank Esplanade. Witness the bizarre, the beautiful (?), and the downtrodden.

And remember, in this corner of Portland, the not-so-unexpected...

Experience was awful I was overcharged for the room.He charged me 150$ He had a lot of people in my room when I wasn't there( other guests that were staying in a different room) When. I brought my x God daughter over he threw a fit so no guests at all. They took my comforters off my bed the weather is like 30° outside I needed my comforters. He would cancel my room key every night just so that he could pay attention t9 what I was doing. I believe it aS so that he could be aware of who seen the conditions of my room and how he was over charging me. The day I had to check out he made me be out by ten am qhen checkout is 11 because he said he has another family coming in and he needwd to clean the room . I had asked for a late check out so he said ok you have till eleven 11 is the normal time play check out and the room was dirty when I got there found dust and fishers under the bed. Nice loop around the waterfront. It gets a little louder walking next to the freeway but it's not bad. One thing I would say though, if doing the Broadway bridge to Tillicum Crossing bridge loop, note the section of the loop just north of OMSI. Compared to the rest of the loop, it is lacking a lot. The parking lot is a great expanse of pavement that is never used, and the asphalt trail is old and very bumpy. Adding a sort of "Tree-Island" (commonplace in many large suburban parking lots) would add a safety buffer between the pedestrian/bikeway and the rest of the automobile parking lot.

Highly enjoy skating the East Bank across the river and back again. It's a fun loop. Sometimes solo, and mainly with friends from Bridge City Skate (follow on IG, join us!) I rollerblade during nice weather, and into the night time. Pavement is mainly smooth for the most part. Lots of great views of the river and the waterfront. It's beautiful day and night!
