Not sure why it's taken me this long to review, but if I could give 10 stars, I would! I've been shopping at Naked City Clothing ever since moving to the PDX area in 2012; I stumbled upon it one day (when it was back on Hawthorne) and thought I had died and gone to alternative heaven! This is THE place for cute and stylish clothing and accessories if you are into gothic, punk, rockabilly, pinup, 80s, vintage, or anything along that spectrum. There's some fantastic quality clothing pieces, as well as more affordable stuff, a huge range of accessories, a wide variety of home decor, and tons of fun little knick-knacks scattered around the store; it's so delightful just having a look around! Definitely check out the website first to get a feel for all that they have to offer, due to the limited in-store shopping times (I highly recommend curbside pickup for those in the PDX area!). The owner, Julian, is the sweetest person, and you can really feel the love that she has for her shop and customers (and PeeWee đ). The pandemic was so hard on tiny shops like hers, but I was more than happy to support her from afar and get my spooky wear by shopping online. I'm so glad the shop survived! It is my mecca. I always get compliments on things that I've purchased there, and I always make sure to let them know that "I got it at Naked City...

If youâre going to make such an apparently inconvenient trip somewhere, maybe try calling and double checking that a place is open. As someone who has worked for several small businesses I know how much of a nightmare it can be to get google to update their info for a business. It took over a month for them to update our new location once. This is honestly akin to people giving 1 star reviews because their GPS took them out of the way. This small store is amazing and the owner is a fantastic woman who works very hard to keep cool things available while still needing to keep...
Read moreI cannot say enough wonderful things about this store! I discovered this place about a year ago, when I first arrived to Portland. The owner, Julian, is as kind as she is helpful without ever being pushy. Her trusty and stylish assistant, Chloe is also sweet and gives the best 2nd opinions. The assortment of fun, neuvo-retro, punk and gothic/gothabilly clothes are somehow simultaneously edgy and classic. Additionally, all of the accessories are curated to compliment anything you might choose to wear. There really is something for everyone, too. I shop exclusively at Naked City. Tell 'em...
