We had a phenomenal brunch here last Saturday. It didn’t not disappoint!! The atmosphere is super chill, they have covered outdoor seating and lovely indoor sitting in booths, higher tables and bar seating. We absolutely 💯 loved their epic retro VHS collection on display over the bar. They had little tv with Little Mermaid going. Super nostalgic!
Now to the food, the portions are incredible. We ate everything with no leftovers. I had their spicy fried chicken and waffles 🧇 combo. The Belgium waffle was so fluffy and was tossed in Minnesota Maple HAB sauce spicy jalapeño maple syrup they had hit every taste bud perfectly. I added sides of their house made gravy, you got to order the gravy!! So good, and flavorful. I would have just spooned it out and ate by itself. My fiancé decided on their Mont De Cristo, it had thick sliced French toast as the buns!! The buns!! With ham and Swiss cheese and a sunny-side egg 🍳 glistening on top with all the flavor it was about to impart with the perfect yolk as it cascaded down your fingers. She added the berry compote that was very tasty and added another layer of flavor. She got the side salad and said it was super refreshing. This was our first time experiencing the perfection of this place, but for sure will not be our last!! Highly recommend them to anyone who is wanting a delicious food coma! Also we went about noon and the wait time was short and sweet, about 10-12 minutes. So worth...
Read moreThe biscuits and gravy: really nice tasting biscuits, moist, not too dense, but still substantial, gravy was sausage based, and would have been amazing except for the very lukewarm temperature and kind of drier portion-I typically like lots of gravy per bite.
Chicken and waffles looked underwhelming, kinda thin, 2 pieces of chicken but boy were they hot, juicy, crispy with a light sprinkling of big flaky salt on top. The waffle was a bit soggy, but still tasted really good! The cinnamon-y syrup, the butter and the whipped cream on the side is really fun way to mix up flavors for each bite.
Puff Coffee was the best drip coffee we've had in a very long while so we indulged in several cups, along with cream, sugar or sometimes the cinnamon syrup from the chicken and waffles.
We've been here a couple times before, and after this visit, I think we'd still enjoy returning again in the future! I was eyeing everyone else's eggs benedict dishes and would re-order the chicken and waffles for sure.
We did experience about a 30 minute wait time with about 4-5 parties before us, on a holiday Monday morning shortly after their opening hours, due to seemingly short staff, but they did an efficient job staggering seating and subsequent parties didn't seem like they had to wait very...
Read moreOn a busy Sunday in the winter we signed in on a clipboard next to the entrance. The waiting area is a bit tight; we were constantly moving around to accommodate new parties as they entered but there was plenty of space outside to wait.
We were seated within 15 minutes and then we used our phones to scan a QR code for the menu. We put in our food and drink order at one time, which was a great choice because it only got busier. The virgin Bloody Mary was a good non-alcoholic choice (serving size was smaller than expected).
Food arrived within 15-20 minutes and it was hot! The fried potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside. My French toast was prepared well with a little bit of crisp on the outside. The cinnamon vanilla maple syrup isn’t for me, but the homemade whipped cream was delicious. The fruit compote was a bit thin and runnier than expected. My husband had the spicy chicken and waffles. The jalapeño waffle had great texture and flavor; wished the hot sauce came on the side because it took away from the nice crispy breading on the chicken. The fried chicken tenders (chicken cutlets?) were also huge; probably the biggest we’ve ever seen on an order chicken and waffles.
Overall the service was friendly, never felt rushed, and the food was great. I’d...
