ALL CLASSES ARE HEATED - It's not super duper clear on their website or on Classpass, at the time of writing this. I've taken 3 or 4 classes here. Another mega crammed Portland yoga studio. It's fine...I sensed some entitlement from one of the instructors which is a turn off, but the instruction and class was great otherwise. Another instructor put the entire class into an extreme cardio vibe, noticed it, and let us have a chill moment to catch our breath. I thought that was great that they noticed and corrected it. I don't think yoga should ever feel like cardio? Parking is terrible as are most studios in Portland. So arrive as early as you can. I'll be back when I can make it with time to spare. Overall fine experience.
**Edit in response: It was not the yogaStrong class. An established yoga instructor can do things us normies can't. Even the most skilled patrons were gasping for air. I think the flow just got away from them for a minute. I thank them for noticing instead of being lost in the moment and focused on pushing themselves. We're all human and trying to our best.
I see Classpass was updated to be more...
Read moreI am so happy that I found Yoga Riot. I chanced upon this studio because they are a member of Silver and Fit—AND the only dedicated yoga studio listed in my area for S&F. At first I was worried because it was "warm" yoga and quite rigorous, but I gave it time. The teachers and owners were so incredibly professional and welcoming. I felt their loving care immediately. These folks are genuine and sincere! They write personal emails after your class with them saying how glad you came and so on. The workout is incredible and I feel stronger than ever. Lots of people are in the classes which gives the room positive energy. Now that we have COVID-19, they have continued with tons of classes online. You get to see your classmates and teachers live! They really know how to build community during these strange times of isolation. It has been really helpful. I can't find one thing bad to say—everything about YogaRiot is upbeat, personable and strengthening....
Read moreMy favorite yoga spot in town. Classes here are up to 90 minutes of sweaty vinyasa flow action; they really build that fire within! They do offer 60 and 75 minute classes as well, and some other classes such as “High Vibe: Cannabis Flow.”
I feel like I get much more of a workout here than at other yoga places. I wish they had more than one men’s shower, but there aren’t usually that many guys so I never have to wait very long for the shower. I’m told that there are two women’s showers.
It is BY FAR the best yoga deal in town ($69/month unlimited) but occasionally they sell a $50 a month membership special which is even better! If you sweat a lot bring your own extra towel because they are fairly militant about the “one towel per customer” rule.
I highly...
