I actually don't know what I'm more surprised about, the overall good reviews on this restaurant or how incredibly terrible the experience really was. First and foremost; let me start by saying if you have any sort of appetite GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Everything we ordered from the $9 weak cocktails to the outrageously over priced entrées were minuscule!! Even the water goblets looked like they were for a small child. The waitress was polite but basically forced an appetizer on us almost knowingly that the entrées were not going to fill us up. We ended up ordering "the ribs" off the appetizer menu which was tasty, but nothing that you could split with another person. Three small ribs and 2 slices of egg plant, hence my rib and half I split with my partner. Don't be fooled by their misleading prices and pictuers on their website either, my entrée that I was looking forward to getting all day was the scallops for $22 which included 4 or 5 slightly large bay scallops and some green beans, I was nearly beside myself after I finished my plate in about 3 minuets. I was with a party of about 12 with long time friends and colleagues and no one else would disagree with this review. Everyone had a shocking look of their face when they received their checks, because of the lack of good service, portions and astronmical prices. I could literally only describe this dining experince as utterly and completely ridiculous and could not wait to leave. We made sure we left less than the appropriate amount for a tip about 13% in hopes that maybe this would make an impression on the staff to get things right, in anyway possible....good luck Block Six more like...
Read moreI thought this was supposed to be "artists" supporting "artists" and encouraging more types of artistry to be included. That is what is was founded upon but when I tried to see if I could register my collection of art to be displayed, it appears as if I am ignored out of feared competition instead. When I took my fiance to view some art there during a comedy/dance, it was the SAME art collection featured as last time. The comedy was very cheesy, with stuff I have already heard before on t.v. They also had what appeared to be 'Lesbian' day couple years ago or something like that. My fiance and I looked at each other and thought we were not in the right environment for "straight couples" during a comedy show. The drinks were pricey for...
Read moreAs a former employee, I can say this is one of the best non-profits you could ever support. First of all the sound system/venue is incredible. There isn't a bad view, it's intimate yet spacious. Most music venues or places to experience art are not always non-profits and 3S' commitment to the always free gallery and discounted tickets compared to most venues is unique. The people behind the mission are good humans and 3S gives something truly special to the community. I live in Boston and still choose to buy tickets and go to shows at 3S - the city doesn't have anything that feels this much like a true arts community. Plus good local...
