We just had the most awful experience here. We went in with our 2 year old and baby who was in a stroller. Upon entering the young sales girl told us to sanitize our hands, totally fine but we were still carrying the stroller up the stair into the shop. While still carrying the stroller she abruptly tells us our 2 year old still needed sanitizer. Ok lady we are trying here. Once all sanitized we get to looking around. This woman proceeds to follow my daughter around the store to reposition (not clean) every item she touched. While my 2 year old was still beyond thrilled to be in the store and choose a few things it was overall a pretty unpleasant experience. We totally abide by all covid related rules, had masks etc, but this was a seemingly unnecessary and unfortunate manner to treat customers in an otherwise...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA fixture of downtown Portsmouth. I can't remember if it's the same name over the decades, but, I've always found it to be a pleasant little store with an old time charm. My first visit as a kid, I remember walking to school, uphill, both ways, err, sorry wrong memory. I remember a tiny tightrope with a small bicycle š² moving back and forth on it. Now, stuffed animals, novelty, educational and development toys. Playmobil, Sesame Street and a few other name brands. Staff was friendly. I found gifts for my son and my daughter, who at first didn't want to go in. She found a book š she wanted. She's picky! Facemasks required and only six customers at a time. Store is small and a little crampt, but, space is at a premium in a city šļø that has regulations that try to maintain its historical look. I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I were having a wonderful first Motherās Day when we decided to do a little toy shopping for our son. We had not even made it into the shop before we were aggressively confronted about mandatory hand sanitizer use. Fair enough but the door hadnāt even closed behind us and Iām juggling a baby and some shopping bags. My wife tries apologizing to her about me not seeing this sanitizer kiosk and lets her know that weāre fully vaccinated. She loudly responds to us (and the entire store) that vaccines donāt actually matter. We were completely embarrassed and after we put sanitizer on, she literally follows us around the store until we left. Beautiful toys but the staff could be a little nicer to a young family enjoying the holiday. Disappointing end to an otherwise...
