Hamilton Jewelers — Attraction in Princeton

UPDATE July 2022 (I wrote a review of my first visit to Hamilton Jewelers April 2021. Google does not allow me to review the same place twice. As such, I have tried my best to consolidate my July 2022 review with my April 2021 review)

If I could give Hamilton Jewelers more than 5/5 stars, I would. Diane and the team at Hamilton Jewelers are superlative. They respect every single person that walks through the door – whether you've been coming here for years or if it is your first time. (As a side note, The store is newly renovated and is significantly larger than it was even last year! The store can sometimes be busy especially during weekends or before major holidays, so an appointment always helps)

Last year, I was looking to commemorate a special occasion by purchasing my first Rolex. Most other Rolex authorized dealers in the NY/NJ/PA area would not even give me the time of day, let alone add me to any waitlist. Hamilton Jewelers was the exception. Kyle (my associate at the time) was honest, transparent, and straightforward about the waitlist process. I never revealed to Kyle that I was looking to celebrate a special occasion with the watch; I only told him that I was happy to wait. Regardless, Kyle treated me with the utmost care and respect. He patiently informed me that although these watches are in very high demand Hamilton Jewelers does the best they can to be as fair as possible when it comes to allocations. Impressed with his professional courtesy, I went ahead and completed the "registration of interest" form.

My initial visit with Kyle left such a good impression that I also returned multiple times later in the year to purchase gifts for Mother’s Day as well as wedding gifts for close friends. Along with Kyle, I also worked with Kristin and Diane. Each time the experience was superior to any other Jewelry store or Rolex Authorized Dealer I have ever encountered. I would like to emphasize that at no point did I ever feel pressured to purchase anything. Rather the professionalism, care, and expertise demonstrated by the team at Hamilton Jewelers always made me feel like I was highly valued and welcomed.

After over a year of patiently waiting (to my great surprise and delight) I received the email that every watch enthusiast dreams about: the Rolex model I was waiting for had arrived. Barely containing my excitement, Diane helped me arrange a time for my fiancée and I to visit the store and pick up the long-awaited watch. At the store Diane introduced me to David, the VP at Hamilton Jewelers who was also very courteous and professional to me during my visit. David remarked that the bracelet and bezel configuration I chose was the “purest” iteration of the watch since it was the same as the original configuration of the watch when it was first released many decades ago – an easily overlooked detail but one that is much appreciated by any watch enthusiast who knows their history! The entire time I was at the store, Diane was a consummate professional. She took the time to learn more about my fiancée and I (such as asking details about our daily lives and careers) and Diane even offered to take lovely photos of us while we were at the store. The entire experience was truly memorable. I revealed to Diane that I will wear this watch to my wedding and cherish it for life. Anybody who is interested in watches will know from the included review photos exactly what watch I am referencing as well as how impossible it is to obtain this watch without jumping through the hoops and games played by some other Authorized dealers (whom I will not mention). Thankfully, Hamilton Jewelers is not like other jewelry stores – Diane and the entire team are truly a class above and deliver an exemplary experience. Hamilton Jewelers has been around since 1912 and it shows, all for good reason. I have been a customer for several years, and the experience I have had is unparalleled. My purchasing experience has never felt simply transactional. Instead, they spent a great deal of time in getting to know me as a person along with my interests, rather than attempt to push product my way. From rings to pendants, bracelets to timepieces - they really listen to your wants and needs and everything feels commemorative, as a jewelry purchase and gift should feel! They are most interested in making sure you get what you are looking for, exactly the way you envision it to be. If they don't have it in the store, they can probably order it for you. And if they are unable to order what you are looking for, don't be surprised if they are able to make it in house. Terri has always risen to the occasion and has been able to mark every important occasion for my family over the years, and that includes custom pieces just because I envisioned things in a very specific way! They are that good.

And for those looking for watches, their allocation process is very fair. I've been dismissed from just about every other authorized watch dealer in the past, but Hamilton does NOT operate that way. Believe me when I say that they sincerely do their best to deliver what their customers want, not what they hope to sell. Patience is the key, as I know full well that I am not their only customer that wants a specific timepiece. I didn't constantly inquire about the timeline. The piece I wanted took years, and when I least expected it, I got notification that my watch was ready to be picked up! Just when I thought my request may have been forgotten, they made a believer out of me!
