I love the wood play area for kids. I just can’t figure out why there is only ONE picnic table in the entire Ochoco Creek Park area. The children’s play area is quite busy, however, the grass is too soaked with water for a blanket, the two benches in the play area perimeter are directly in the baking sun, and the only other bench was placed in the middle of a mud puddle. All parents are standing to watch their kids play or watching from their vehicles, except the one family who wasn’t too embarrassed to race to the only picnic bench. Thankfully it is in the shade.

This is an awesome park!! The playground, which is made of wood versus medal/plastic, is large and unique. My 5 year old and my friend's two young kiddos enjoyed this park. It has a variety of features that can cater to everyone. Across the street is a skateboard park, and nearby are basketball courts. There's also an actual creek that runs through the park so that adds to the natural ambiance. The restrooms are closed during the winter and the water fountain probably also turns off.
