Golden Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Prineville

As far as coffee shops go, this place is my go to coffee place in Prineville. The staff are super friendly and the coffee is fantastic and smooth.

Coffee: if you know me I have standards I go by. Since everyone has a different flavor profile they hold coffee to, I acknowledge that this is very subjective. I go by smoothness and flavor as well as balancing additions such as syrups. That said, I typically rate off of either mochas or vanilla lattes (or just lattes). They use Holy Kakow for their syrups who uses really good ingredients (they are also based out of Sisters… so bonus for local) and have a really good flavor profile. I don’t know who they use for their beans but it is good and smooth.

Baristas (5 stars): every time I go in, they seem excited to see me, and they don’t even know me. It has such a fantastic environment effect that I almost didn’t notice the actual environment of the coffee house.

Atmosphere (3 stars): any time you use concrete floors it adds an echo to the noise (which alone drops the points in this category by 2 stars it is that bad). However, the massive bay doors are so wonderful during the summer in adding light. They also have a cute back yard area and a separate room with a comfortable couch (+1 star). I recently visited this charming coffee shop, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The baristas here are true artisans, as evidenced by the beautifully crafted latte art on my coffee. Each sip was a delightful experience, with the perfect balance of rich, smooth flavors. Visited here twice on two separate occasions this last weekend and was impressed both times! The coffee is very good, and they do a very nice job steaming the milk for lattes even with dairy alternative milks which are generally more difficult. My group had their chai (delicious!), various lattes, and a Mocha, and everyone was impressed! The indoor space is also nice and airy, with roll up doors and plenty of seating and would be a nice place to spend the afternoon.
