This is a really nice museum that has quite a variety of historical artifacts so that anyone will find items of interest. I really liked the mouse trap history display. The gift shop has lots of books on the history of the region and state. To really see everything, plan on a few hours. I would go back again next time I'm in town. See photo - "In today's timber industry. nothing is wasted Logs are cut into various sizes of lumber to make the best use of each one. Every part of the log is used, even bark and sawdust."

This museum was a GREAT FIND! The displays were well constructed- all of the artifacts made sense and were shown off to great advantage. It was well worth a visit. The museum host, Sean, was personable & excited to show us around. He was happy to see out of town visitors. Despite the hours listed on Google- the museum is OPEN ON MONDAY’s during the summer Months. The website info is correct.

Definitely worth dropping by! A great representation of Prineville past. I love the old dining room set up upstairs. I love the fact it is located in one of Prineville oldest 1st banks and looks just the same as it did when it was really a bank! And in the newer addition of the museum you can learn about pioneer life, the natives that lived here, logging and Les Scwaab! It's pretty cool and very affordable to get in since its...

The place is great, well made, great service and staff members. But there's only one fall that I saw. It has to do with Native American history. There was a ton of misinformation in that part. They did not "give" the Native Americans Warm Springs. They forced them onto it. And there was literally no Native American artifacts, not even in that area. This country and several others really need to stop denying the facts on...
