Slipcover Plus Upholstery & Fabric Store — Attraction in Proviso Township

I’ve lived in Forest Park for over 15 yrs and never noticed this business. But on Friday, October 15th I did and I’m glad I did. Ceil was very friendly and very professional. I am having my grandmother’s wooden rocking chair repaired, reupholstered, and refinished. Ceil was helpful in selecting the color of fabrics I was looking for (they have an array of fabrics to choose from). She prepared a couple of estimates to have everything done. I have 2 more weeks until it is completed and I’m very excited to see the finished product. I stopped in there on Saturday just to get an update. Ceil and the other employee (male) were so nice; they knew who I was and addressed me by name. They gave me an update on the progress and offered to bring the rocking chair to my home once completed. I just love the professionalism and customer service that I received there………will update when chair is completed🤞🏾 Well…..I have an update. My grandmother’s rocking chair was ready early (by a few days)👏🏾 They delivered the rocking chair to my home and I was blown away!!!💯🤯 They did an excellent job re-upholstering, re-finishing and making repairs to the nuts/bolts. I really wanted to love this place. I ordered a custom made slip cover for my pottery barn sectional couch since I have babies I needed a slightly darker color for my couch and I am so disappointed in the quality. I have had these covers for just 2 months and they just look old already and are not holding up! I picked a very nice cotton fabric and even paid a little extra for the seems but the material is literally bailing up. I paid roughly $1,600 for the covers and I am sad! I would not buy from here again. I could’ve just purchased a darker new couch for the price and quality that I received. Also, the delivery of the covers was in a garbage bag that was broken! For someone who paid that much money I would expect just a cleaner more presentable delivery. I am just overall dissapointed. Anthony was a very nice guy but the product was not good. I was looking for an upholstery company to assist me with 2 acoustic window panels in my bedroom. I live right across from a mini mall and industrial plant that get quite noisy between 8pm and 8am. This became quite stressful for me and sleeping became unbearable. My doctor was very concerned about my elevated blood pressure on my Wellness Exam vist (I'm 71 yrs old) and he discussed changing my prescription. I explained what I thought to be the culprit. I brought in some materials and a pattern with dimensions to Slipcovers Plus and they made the panels for me. I mounted the panels and I'm sleeping like a baby.
