I’ll start with - the stylist, Little Jenny, is absolutely amazing and deserve 1000 stars. However, my experience just now left me utterly mind-blown. I needed to cancel or reschedule my appointment this morning because my dog had been sick and in pain all night. When I called, the receptionist scoffed and rudely informed me that I needed to give 24 hours' notice, despite the fact that the situation was urgent and unforeseen! She even mentioned charging me half the appointment fee and seemed bothered by my request.
It was upsetting to be met with such a lack of empathy, especially when my dog’s health was at risk. I understand the importance of policies, but there's also room for understanding in special circumstances and I’d hope to be shown some kind of grace. I’ve never canceled or rescheduled with them before, and I value my stylist, Little Jenny, who is incredible and a sweetheart.
However, the unprofessional and unsympathetic response from whoever answered the phone, especially during an already stressful morning has shown me I need not come here anymore. If they’re so concerned about losing money, perhaps they could consider a waitlist or a more flexible cancellation policy, with a positive attitude toward all their clients… At the end of the day, I’d much rather be making sure my dog is getting proper care than a hair appointment—something I hope others can understand too. Sadly, I’ll be looking for a new salon where customer service and compassion are prioritized.
Edit post supercilious reply:
I just saw your patronizing and facetious comment -over a month after I wrote my comment. I left a voicemail. For the record, my stylist, Jenny, specifically told me to call her ‘Little Jenny,’ so the unnecessary quotation marks were not appreciated.
Your message mocking my concerns—despite me clearly stating them both over the phone and here—is condescending. The insincere ‘I wish I knew who you were so I could ask about your dog’ only reinforces how disingenuous this interaction feels, especially given the rude and dismissive way you proceeded to speak to me. I fully understand how commission works; perhaps you should consider that life happens. Respect and professionalism go a long way in...
Read moreI got married on April 28 this year and used Jenny's salon and Melissa Franklin makeup. So first melissa, she was so awesome to work with. We did a trial first and I really feel like she listened to what I wanted. On the day of I absolutely loved my makeup. I am not big on makeup but really didn't feel like it was overdone. As a side note, I have been trying to find the right lipstick for ever and I think Melissa finally did it. She gave me the lipstick she used afterwards and I have been wearing it on my honeymoon. I cried my eyes out and did have to retouch my concealer a few times but didn't end up with raccoon eyes! Three of my bridesmaids and my mom had their hair done and two others didn't, only my mom and I had makeup done but Melissa let us use her space to do everyone's makeup and it was a great pre wedding experience.
On to the hair, my hair is incredibly stubbornly straight especially when long. Naturally I always want curly hair and I really wanted a bit of a cascade. Amanda did such an amazing job, not only was it exactly what I wanted but it actually stayed put all night. Possibly for the first time ever. She also did my moms hair which looked stunning and she was able to keep it the way Amanda did for 3-4 days. Emily did my bridesmaids hair and they were so happy with everything not sure if Emily did everyone else's hair. I worked with Raymie to arrange everything and she was excellent. Will add pictures when the professional...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting the salon.
The good: Part of the service was getting a short scalp massage by Alivia which was amazing. Also, I had booked my hair cut online with Karen and decided I wanted to try to get a single process color before hand. I called yesterday morning and they talked to my stylist and she agreed to fit me in before the scheduled cut. Very appreciated.
The not so good: My hair cut and consultation felt very rushed. The end result looked okay in the salon, so I didn't speak up, but after getting home, I found my cut was pretty choppy and it isn't sitting nicely blended. Second, I had wanted a single process color but Karen thought what I was asking for was a glaze, which I sort of agreed with. I didn't want anything drastic. The plan was for it to be a nice chocolate brown, add warmth and for it to not be any darker than my original hair color. Well, it's not a chocolate brown, and it is darker than my hair color. I also googled what a glaze is and supposedly it only last a couple of weeks. Not sure if that is true, but either case there should have been a better explanation, or consultation on what we were doing, otherwise I wouldn't have spent so much on something that wasn't going to last long. I don't know, I'm pretty upset about this whole experience. I'm hoping once I wash my hair the color will be what I...
