Food: American bar food (shockingly, everywhere in Purcellville). On par with Coaches Corner, Purcellville Pub, Velocity Wings, etc all within a mile. Similar items, similar pricing (maybe a tad higher), but no real standouts (coaches the family likes the wings best, pub has the best sandwiches, velocity is on par but larger and has some great specials).
Parking: Free valet is great, right? Maybe once and ultimately not in Purcellville. Be prepared to hand over your vehicle to a stranger to be parked in the dirt/gravel lot across the street. How the owner picked this place, but didn't consider parking, is beyond me (and tells a lot of his experience).
Atmosphere: The bar area is pretty cool! Trendy, tvs, overall a great place to watch a game I bet. If you're not going to the area, the awkward layout of the converted doctors office shows. It's tight, there aren't many tables, and the bathrooms are in an odd place strangely close to table.
Service: The wait staff has been great and professional, minus a few hiccups with wait times, or forgetting, to seat tables. The owner, however, is very popous and rude in our interactions at table and in the restaurant. Even more credit to some of the staff hired, because he is clearly not modeling the same customer oriented experience and service that I have no doubt he expects of them. While finding similar food nearby is easy, parking is awful, and overall there isn't much unique here, this was a huge turn off that I think convinced us to frequent elsewhere in the future.
Overall, if you're looking for the American style bar food that seems so successful in Purcellville (and everywhere, I love it too!), this place is one of many options to try, but shouldn't be the first or second...
Read moreSo let me start by saying the servers we have interacted with work really hard and are pretty good and the food is good too. I also don't usually write reviews or complain about places, but felt this warrented it. The big drawbacks to this place are the layout of the restaurant, no outdoor seating, and on 2 occasions we have been the owner has been treating customers/employees less than par. We had a really weird interaction where the menu said an item was priced lower than the POS system was charging. We asked that it be corrected. The owner came out and said it was the correct price even with the menu saying differently. We asked for the price to be reduced to what was advertised and the owner acted very annoyed and kind of stormed off and said he would take the item off (which he did) as he walked off my husband and I were off put by the interaction and were talking about it, and the owner abruptly came back to our table and told my husband he was being condescending and said something else and stormed off again. It was totally bizarre to have an owner interact with us that way especially bc throughout the night we had no other issues and the only things we even asked our waitress for was salt and mayo. So, we just shrugged it off, tipped the server for the burger that wasn't charged and left. As this was the 2nd time we had seen this happen (once with our own experience and another observing it) I just wanted to give my experience bc if you have a problem here with your meal you're going to have an awkward night ruining interaction. No good... bravo to the waitress for keeping her cool and continuing to do a great job with the uncomfortable...
Read moreThis was my first time at Local Cut. It's been open about a year, but the combination of initial excitement crowding and bad parking has kept me at bay. But last night, I finally made it there. Local Cut is a good casual dining choice in Purcellville with decent pricing and really good food. The surprise to the upside was definitely the food. From appetizer to our main meals, everything was great. I had the Ribeye, and my wife had the Salmon Oscar. Both were delicious and plentiful. We both took home leftovers, which were just as good the next day. At around $40 per person, we split an app, each had a meal and a drink. The atmosphere and decor are a little odd, with more of a diner feel. Also, they could use some training up with their waitstaff. I suppose it is a sign of the times, but they could definitely improve here. Our waitress was very friendly, but didn't bring the water that we requested and we had to ask for silverware when our meals came. Nothing terrible, and she corrected those issues immediately. But they have been open a year, and they should have the basics down better at this point. It's worth stopping by, and I will go back; but, there is definitely an odd mixture between the food atmosphere...
