Private party of 10 family members. No experience. Ages from 9 - 84. We had some with hearing issues, mobility issues, cognitive issues. Dot was amazing with everyone. Her directions were very clear. She took time with all of us to make sure we each had two finished products to be fired and glazed. She was able to correct minor mistakes and some not so minor to allow us to keep creating and learning. Her patience was endless and she helped make this a memorable experience for all of us. Once you’re done with each piece you set it aside to dry and choose your glaze from a multitude of options. They do all the firing and glazing for you. Takes about 4 weeks to get your final pieces. My nephew also enjoyed playing with the shop dog Finn! 10/10 would do again.

My husband and I took a class for beginners in pottery together as a present for each other and our recent anniversary. I have to say I was happily surprised that the class was on the smaller side and not overly packed with people. Which meant I felt like for my first attempt at making anything in pottery, I was a lot more at ease with trying a new activity. Dot was great with her step by step instructions and both my husband and I found out that she has quite a sense of humor which was fantastic for us since so do we! We created some great bowls and really enjoyed the process. I can't wait to go pick them up after they've been glazed. Hoping we can do another one of the many classes for sure and would highly recommend others do as well!

Artisans at work! I saw this place during my visit to New England. The friendly staff explained the entry room was a retail store for pottery items, many created in the next room. Several potters were making vessels on electric wheels, where visitors can view and interact. Classes in pottery are provided, as well as a place for experienced potters to work. You can paint and glaze as well as use the two kilns. In the retail room there is an area with pottery for sale and you can name your price due to what the potter considers defects. These items are still functional and reflect the creativity of the artist.

I had the absolute best experience at Sawmill Pottery! I went with a group of fellow inexperienced potters for Mother's Day, and we couldn't have been more satisfied with the private 1.5 hour session. Prior to scheduling the Mother's Day session, email communication with Dot was immensely easy with quick responsiveness and detail. During the session, the instructor David was incredibly friendly, patient, and kind. The entire studio was such a welcoming and supportive environment. We all had SO much fun, and I highly recommend Sawmill Pottery and its beyond fantastic staff to anyone who is interested in trying something new. I wish I could leave 6 out of 5 stars - it was that memorable and wonderful! Thank you to Dot and David for giving my mom, sisters, grandma, and I the best Mother's Day...
