I'm not really certain how to measure how well it is here because I ordered very basic menu options. I wanted to try the sushi and sashimi...
For a quiet weekday afternoon, everything was as I would have expected. That is both a good thing and a bad thing for a person visiting from a big city ;)
The basics: I love the enchantment of smaller water glasses, and thank you to all of the people working here for ensuring a water refill.
The menu looks very enticing, as it encompasses much variety... in fact, the menu seems so skillful and advanced in terms of options, the modest interior design almost feels misleading.
The specials menu looked wonderful and makes me wish I loved seafood... or tried something new.
Hopefully, there gets to be a time to return for some sashimi or a dinner.
The lunch I ordered was very fresh and appetizing. No grease which made me happy. If I were a chef here, maybe I would explore slightly more complex flavoring options, although balsamic glaze drizzle on just about anything is not necessarily a negative.
The salad looks very fresh and vibrant.
I'm of the impression this place is a hearty 3/5 or 4/5 in terms of professional hospitality, but to be honest, it is a bonafide 5/5 for me because of not having to cope with the hassles of being in a big overcrowded city.
My intuition and experiences say the owners planned a diverse menu that is sustainable while also offering sufficient variety of selection, and it's a 5/5 for operational quality. Everything was fresh and to temperature.
If you're looking for gourmet, or Michelin fives, well, everyone with any hospitality experience understands it's partially subjective. Menu items would require slightly more flare for all that (fusion flavorings, advanced cooking techniques, herbaceous complexities, etc.).
It was exactly on point for what I was hoping for, only priced somewhat above my personal budget. A splurge occasionally is worth it. I am not sure how the farmers markets are doing around the area, but fresh cilantro and maybe a vegetable added to the quesadilla would be âșïžđ«¶đŒđ€đŒ.
Lovely accommodating service staff, lovely cutlery. All what one would expect.
Thank you very much
Serving sizes are pretty average to moderate. No huge portions and no...
Read moreI have been here multiple times with a positive experience. If I were to base my review on my most recent visit alone, it would be a 3 at best. My party and I were disappointed in our visit. They were pretty busy so some things were understandable to a point. We were greeted and seated in a timely fashion and then the service slipped downhill from there. We only received one drink menu for a table of four and normally they have a specials menu, we did not get one at all. Our server came to take the order and before we finished ordering she began an interaction with another patron and walked away, she did not return until that portion of our order came out. While waiting an extended time to order our main dish we observed, by distraction rather than desire to observe, she was continually socializing in a rather loud tone with other employees or patrons about personal matters. Aside from that the manner in which the food was served felt more like we were sitting in a diner. Rather than walking around the table to place plates in front of the person they were passed over top of each other inches away from someone else's face. Aside from the subpar service the quality of the food was less than I have come to expect here as well. One of our appetizers was overcooked, one of the dishes had requested sauce on the side and the sauce was completely unacceptable, it should not have been served. We will likely dine here again in hopes that this experience was a one off and does not...
Read moreI went to 85 Main with my brother in law and sister to celebrate Easter dinner together as I was leaving the next day. Although they highly recommended this restaurant, I always reserve the right for my own opinion. You enter the dining area ( which there are several to pick from ) and are immediately greeted with a warm, smiling face. The room is softly lite giving a moodiness that both relaxes you and gives anticipation. The waitress is pleasant and right on their game. Giving ample time to scan the menu, answer any questions you may have and then take your order. They are as efficient as they are hospitable. The food? Is all and more than my family told me. The maple scallops were melt in your mouth and the flavor, slightly sweet with a bit of smokiness was not to be resisted. The sweet potato hash surprised me, was both delicious and hard to stop eating. Tiny pieces of sweet potatoe mixed with sauteed red onion, red pepper and garlic. Given the option, I switched my choice on the second side choosing the Garlic Roasted Asparagus which was cooked to perfection. I give this restaurant a very high rating for both the experience of it all and the food which will certainly not...
