How to start but by saying WOW! Just WOW! I stopped in to third street antiques to have a small antique wooden musicbox appraised and although I knew it would be a 50-59 shot someone would be able to appraise it for me after being told over the phone that they did not officially do appraisals, the owner was very knowledgeable and might be able to help. I wasn't able to get my music box appraised but I was very happy I made the trip. I was very impressed with this shop and had no idea what a little gem I had been missing out on all the years when I passed right by it without ever going in. If you enjoy window shopping, unique finds and an abundance of unique little treasures to sift through, this is a must add to your list of places to visit. I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to spend in this shop because it is very large and has lots of nooks and hidden corners to adventure through. If you haven't planned on visiting before please plan on visiting it after reading this review. I personally guarantee you will not be...
Read moreTwo older women were chatting at the cash register. As I browsed down the aisle in front of them, they yelled for me to come put my bag at the front counter if I wanted to continue shopping. I hesitated and then decided to comply since I love antiques. After I set my bag down, the did not not secure it. They continued talking loudly about shoplifting teenagers putting items in their bags. The implication that I am a shoplifting teenager was amusing in that I cannot possibly be mistaken for a teenager (I wish I looked that young!)
I was still in office attire so it is hard to believe I looked like I was there to rob them. When I went online to post a review, I discovered that has been a pattern at the store for years. Hostility toward customers with no justification is appalling. Hope you will avoid this business. Their merchandise was sub par and smelled of mold. Not just mildew. Mold. The place was filthy and items were vintage at best,...
Read moreA wonderful place that really has the ambience of the past within every room. Always plentiful on a large variety of antiques, many different interests, hobbies, collector items, things new and old, it's quite an experience. Even from when you open the front door, it's age is apparent in the best way possible. Only downside, it's lacking any type of customer interaction at all. Rarely do I even find anyone who works there around unless it's at the front register. But getting the peace to just experience the whole thing is nice, and being able to barter down prices of things you want is a fun extra bit. Overall, very enjoyable and somewhere you definitely need...
