This year for my birthday, I expressed to my fiancé that I wanted to spend the day hiking amidst nature, specifically surrounded by towering trees. However, the weather didn't initially cooperate, with heavy rain falling until the afternoon. Despite the weather, my fiancé took me to Bradley Lake Park, a location I had never visited before. I was delighted to discover the park's beauty, featuring an open initial view, a spacious play area for children, a small man-made fishing lake with a walkable dock, and a picturesque one-mile walking trail offering varied scenic views. What struck me most was the transition along the walking path, about half a mile in, where the open view gave way to a forest landscape dominated by tall trees, evoking the sensation of being on a hike. Overall, Bradley Lake Park is an ideal spot for exercising or spending time with kids and dogs.

Great place for Sungazing at the end of the day. Has a baseball field and play park for the kids. Bradley Lake Park offers a paved serene stroll around the lake itself and is fully encompassed in the beauty of the surrounding 1,000 year old conifer forest. Mycology research boasts a wonderfully diverse variety of specimens among the Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, red cedar, and western hemlock. So there's always something new to stumble across. There are wild bunnies abound offtrail and geese galore for those who enjoy the lake front sedentary approach. Watch out for the poop. Fishing is also on the menu and you may be able to catch yourself naturally reproducing yellow perch, brown bullhead catfish, large mouth bass, or black crappie. Hatchery rainbow trout is also stocked annually so grab your fishing pole between March and May.

The Tacoma Sportsmen's Club put on an exalentThe recent kids' fishing derby fostered a positive environment for young anglers. Providing complimentary meals enhanced the experience for the children. Encouraging independent participation ensures the children gain the most from the event. Adult supervision is crucial for safety and guidance. Focusing on the children's involvement helps cultivate their passion for fishing. The derby creates lasting memories and promotes outdoor recreation. Such events strengthen community bonds and support youth development. Prioritizing children's participation in fishing, rather than adults, will ensure the event's continued success and fairness, particularly for younger children aged two to eight.

I LOVE this lake. I take my kids and dogs often. The walk is a great walk wether your running. Speed walking, leisurely walking, or exploring. I see many bikes, skateboards, scooters, etc.

This is a great paved walk for kids, animals, strollers, etc. There is also many 'trails' off the pavement that are fun for short exploring but be aware of possible paraphernalia or trash that is usual in the city parks. That said, the maintenance and cleaning crew are seen OFTEN and I believe they clean the trails frequently as that is few and far between.

The lake is a great fishing spot and there are 2 swings along the paved route looking put to the lake. Try to be mindful of how long you're on them as they are popular!

There is geese aplenty so be aware of poop, but the fields are huge and open to run your dog, kids, kites, sports, etc.

2 playgrounds offer varying levels of skills for different aged children. There is one covered picnic area with electrical plugs and small outdoor charcoal grill. This is reserved quickly during summer. Often there are canopies, blankets, chairs, etc during summer seasons for various parties and picnics and there are quite a few trees to offer shade.

There are many public events at this park.

Parking is relatively limited but there is an extra lot across the main street that offers plenty of extra space.

There is a baseball field and a story walk on the paved path!

The restrooms are relatively well maintained and clean compared to most local parks. There is a water fountain by the bathrooms and at the entrance to the paved walk (this one includes a dog fountain).

If you're into Pokemon Go, there are quite a few Gyms and pokestops.

This is easily one of our favorite multi-faceted parks in the...

This park is ABSOLUTELY beautiful. The playground is super nice and good for toddlers. HOWEVER, though there is a sign that states the ages that are allowed on the gym. Older kids, teens and parents do NOT care. I have taken my 2 year old there to play and it never fails. There are always these BIG MAN child's running and playing tag, and pushing the little ones out of the way. Kids that are 11-15 whose parents are present and do not care what they are doing or how they are acting, then there are 7-12 year old children jumping off the very tops of the slides running around wild making it impossible for the little ones to actually and play. Their parents see them and yet don't do anything. This place is more for parents who are lazy and use the park to babysit. My advice. Take the babies/toddlers during school hours. The older kids make it hard for the babies to enjoy. My baby got pushed down as well as multiple other babies because of these annoying older children pushing them out of the way & their parents didnt care. I get this is a park but seriously it's not ok to allow children to act like that, especially THE TEENS who run and play tag on the gym there is a age limit on purpose. I moved from here from hood of Compton in L.A, and sometimes when I see these kids and their parents my hood wants to come out. I avoid this park because of these reasons. Buuuuut if you are a lazy parent, like a lot of these parents here at this park are and dont care what your kid does or how they act and use the park as a babysitter, this is the...

It's a beautiful park. My son loves it and the trail is great for his scooter. I would give it 5 out of 5 but I really think they need to do something about the abundance of goose scat in ALL THE GRASS. I know a friend whose daughter almost died from catching a virus from the scat in the grass at this very park when she was a toddler. This girl is now a teen so this is nowhere near a new issue. It stinks and it is a hazard, clearly. I get not harming the geese but they need to come up with a containment plan for the scat. Another issue is parking. I get that there is a lot across that VERY BUSY street for additional parking and I know that there is a "Full" sign that occasionally makes an appearance when appropriate but most of the time I either circle the very full lot before realizing it is such or if I find a spot I get irate fellow park-goers tricked into pulling into the full lot and they rightly get bent out of shape waiting g for my spot when I am just grabbing a water bottle or etcetera. I suppose both of my issues could be resolved with more staffing. A specialist for containing the scat and some lackey who will actually get the sign out on a basis of reliability higher than 8%. If it were not for these issues this would be the best park on South Hill. Also, if you go during fishing season there are a lot of adults participating sans children. Again, another issue that can be resolved with more or better...
