The mecca of Chinese groceries in the south shore. Definitely a one stop shop for everything under the sun.
There are sizable areas for each of these categories: meat, seafood, vegetables, fruits, frozen items, prepackaged cooked food, sauces/condiments, snacks, noodles/udon, tofu/soy milk, bottled/carton beverages, household products (ex. bowls/dishes, steamboats), personal/hygiene products, even booze.
The entire wall on the right past the entrance features a bakery with great selection and novelty flavors/products (not just the same old tired varieties), cooked food counter (what I like to call "scoop-a-lunch", the 2 or 3 varieties of food plus rice), and the Chinese barbeque counter where everything is great. In this area, you order and pay separately. There are a couple tables available for those who want to eat-in.
General quality of products is great overall. Veggies packed in smaller portions (maybe ~1 lb. per), so no pressuring into bulk buying. Gems found in prepackaged food items, in open fridge by the meat counter. Meat and fish are decent, with great selections.
The sheer amount of sauces and condiments are unbelievable; an increased availability of gluten-free sauces in the past few years is highly commendable. Asian snacks selection is also quite a sight -- one can find many types of snacks and sweet originated from Japan to Indonesia. Once you bent the left on their L-shaped footprint, there is even a separate section for some Hispanic-centric and Korean-themed food products.
Couple downers: fish corner can get a bit hectic during peak time the bao (bread) fillings are more jello-like than custard-like, which is an eek for me pricing general great, but I also paid $19.99 for a 6-pack last year (to be fair they put a sign up nice and big. I wasn't thinking straight during my mad dash but then I still couldn't believe an 8-10?oz. can of imported, flavored beer can cost $3+) despite the huge lot, parking on weekends and the eve of major holidays (ex.winter solstice) are always crazy
Overall, still a place I would highly recommend for anyone who wants to check everything out or looking for something specific coz there's a good chance they'd find it there. This place only needs a mayor to be officially called a city! And I would not ever mind being trapped in there for a...
Read moreAs soon as you walk into there, there's this asian sensation that tingles within you and you can't help express the freedom you feel. This to the left there's a little section for these very nice fuzzy warm comfy blankets that i highly recommend people to check out.
Further down, there is the little food court in which you can stuff your face with a variety of food from baked goods to dumplings to takeout. The bakery has very good food for cheap but I recommend you hold your place in line well or else some person is gonna cut you off and you dont wanna be throwing hands in a place like this. Get yourself some good bbq pork buns.
The main chinese food is very good. The chicken is flavorful as well as the pork and beef. The consistency of the rice is quite compelling. The only downside is that the little plastic spoons are a pain to use.
There's a lot of fresh fish and fresh meats in the meat area. The variety of noodles is paradise to any ramen enthusiasts. There are more noodles here than you could even fathom. Any noodle you could ever want is here.
Further into the store theres even more stuff like candy treats, jello, furniture, cookware, coloring books, school supplies, rice, and stuffed animals. They also have motor oil and WD40 in case your brakes are squeaking. Im actually kidding. Dont put WD40 on your brakes.
It doesnt matter if you're Asian or not, this store has everything you could ask for and then some. I highly recommend visiting and having lunch here.
Oh also, if you decide to bring home the cheesey buns from the bakery, make sure you throw it in a trash can far away or else the scent will continue wafting around in the air, calling your name and then you'll end up booking a trip back to Kam Man Foods...

This market were the only one I knew of that carried the elusive Del Monte Pink pineapples (It was quite good) once.
There is also a bakery with so many great items but Amazing cakes. Our Summer go to birthday cakes is their Mango Cake since mangoes are in season.
Then last but not least, their "deli" & prepared foods section is wonderful if you're craving some char siu, roast duck or you can get a roast meats rice box for $10 & up or some prepared hot food section for around $9 for 2 choice entree with rice. Boxes comes with soup of the day.
There is a HUGE variety of pantry staples: sauces galore, seasonings from every region, even many vegan options. If you're looking for it, they would most likely have it. The fresh seafood dept is good as well as the meat dept where the guys will cut what you need.
This is my go to Asian market since I can grab a meal if I'm too tired to cook & even a bun for breakfast the next day.
How could I forget! There is a decent beer & wine section so you can grab a bottle or a case right before you check out since it's right across from...
