Good Fortune Supermarket — Local services in Quincy

The prices are fantastic! Very cheap! As a vegetarian I need ALOT veggies and tofu.. and at places like Stop & Shop in Star market the prices are down right ridiculous especially for fruits and vegetables.. plus place the selection is limited.. so I started thinking outside of the box.. so first I had tried Kam manand they are even cheaper but in there more of a selection but it's kind of dirty in there and it smells really bad.. this place is a lot cleaner..the only thing that bothered me is they didn't have scales in the vegetable and fruit Department.. and not one person spoke not even a tiny bit of English..when I try to ask for help they would literally see me and completely ignore me..so I looked up on Google how to say some things in Chinese and they seemed aggravated that I had figured that out.. the selection isn't as big in the prices are a little more expensive but compared to Star market or Stop & Shop or whole foods it's absolutely way cheaper..for 50$ I walked out 7 or 8 very FULL bags of food! I got atleast DOUBLE what I would've got @ a regular supermarket.. Even the meat lk the chicken drumstick and thighs, pork chops were WAY cheaper..I'm talking .98 a Lb..A when bag of them for $3.00.. Fruit lk Strawberries & blueberries were both 3 for 5$! Eggplants were $1.00, Scallions were 2/ 1.00 etc etc..I hope...

I went early Sunday morning, probably 45 mins after they opened up, and saw something that I could never unsee. I saw how they handled and placed the fish on the ice. All the fish were out on the floor, some stacked on top of each other, in various DIRTY, plastic crates that looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in ages. What made me cringe, and almost throw up, was witnessing one guy accidentally place his whole foot, with boots on that he’s been walking God knows where with, inside the one of the red snapper crates. When he saw what he did, he took his foot out, grabbed those very fish and proceeded to place them on the ice for you and I to purchase. I left with the quickness and vowed never to shop there again. I’ve been shopping there a for about a year and mostly during the COVID shutdown and have, for the most part, been pleased with my purchases. But, what I saw made me rethink my decision to eat fish ever again. They are unsanitary and I don’t trust where they store their products or how fresh any of their fish really are.

I WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN! I will just learn how to...

Terrible customer service experience. I went in today to buy some seafood. One man helped me get some salmon and shrimp. I was about to walk away from the fish counter when I saw a tray of fish eggs. Another man came to me from the behind the counter (a Hispanic man) and I asked him how must the fish eggs would cost. He said $5 and I agreed. He then pointed to the tip jar on the counter and told me to put another $5 in there. I had no cash on me but found a dollar in quarters in my purse and gave it to him. He gave it right back to me and said “No.” He said “No $5 for the tip then no eggs!” I thought he was kidding but he was not! I looked for a manager to speak with but no one there claimed to be the manager. So I just told the cashier what happened when I checked out.

Shocking that he would try to extort me for a tray of fish eggs!! I’ve never had a more shocking customer service experience in my life!

I shop here weekly and never would have expected...
