I came here to try Mi Quang and Bun Cha Ha Noi, the 2 specialty dishes that I saw Pho Countryside recently added to their offering. You have to ask for them as they are not on the menu yet. I was thoroughly impressed by the presentation and the taste from these 2 dishes coming from 2 different regions in Vietnam. It is VERY HARD to find these dishes around here!
While Bun Cha Ha Noi is a special dish coming from Northern Vietnam, Mi Quang is a special dish coming from Central Vietnam. The word Ha Noi from Bun Cha Ha Noi stands for the capital of Vietnam. It is such a special dish that when President Obama visited Vietnam, this is what he got! For this reason, in Vietnam they often call this dish Obama noodle. The word Quang from Mi Quang stands for Quang Nam, a city in the central coast of Vietnam where this noodle originated from.
As mentioned above, not many restaurants in Massachusetts offer these dishes. I tried Mi Quang at 3 other places in Massachusetts and this is the best! Even better than the Mi Quang in Miami, and sometimes in Saigon! Very authentic as well! I can attest as my mom came from Quang Nam. Even in certain regions in Vietnam, this dish could be not quite as good!
The service was also amazing! The server was very attentive. The owner walked around the restaurant to check on the customers to ensure everyone was happy. Great ambiance as well! Overall we had a great experience and will...
Read moreI’ve been to this place like dozens times and I like it there. Or! I’d say I lovED it there. Today’s dinner was so...unpleasant? The meal itself was just fine, but the attitude of everyone there was disgusting. The front desk manager is not friendly.. like -200 level. And all of the waiters..😡 We came in, were seated..... there were two other tables seated after us. The waiters went to both of them, offered tea, asked about the order... then came again, asked again and checked on them... they were avoiding any eye contact with us. Eventually, probably 15-20 minutes after I’ve finally caught one of them. Placed an order.... and guess what? They didn’t want to bring us the tea until I specifically asked for it. They have checked on every table next to us if everything was ok( just regular procedure), but never asked us. What’s more funny, when my husband asked for water for us, they just brought one glass, not two... and went away avoiding any contact with us..again. We took some food to go and I the waiter brought us a container so we could pack it ourselves... just curious if they always make customers do it or they just made us do it, cause they didn’t want to do anything for us. Btw, the place was half empty... not so many customers to take care of.yet still...
Read morePho Countryside has been one of our favorites for so long. My family and I went to Pho Countryside for Mother's Day, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. First of all, we had to ask the service for water. We ordered the lotus shrimp and meat salad as an appetizer but received no extra plates to share the appetizer. I ordered the Bun Countryside but didn't get fish sauce and had to ask for it. We also ordered the vegetarian yellow noodle stir-fried with veggies and tofu, but it was too salty. My sister ordered a pho and avocado smoothie. She didn't get the bean sprouts/veggies that come with pho. Also, the avocado smoothie just tasted straight-up like milk only, with no avocado in it. We talked to the server, and the server spoke to the lady manager, and she told him that is how they did it, and we heard what she said because our table was right next to the bar. She later came by and offered if we wanted to get another drink, but we did not want it at this point. They took the avocado smoothie off the bill. Overall, the service was, unfortunately, slow and...
