*Update 3/17/2025. After a few months, the person who made everyone miserable was let go. Lauren, Daria and Ashley who are the face of the Marquis are excellent. You can tell that they truly love their job and really enjoy the people that live here. To say that things have turned around 180° is an understatement. They are helpful and courteous and we really like stopping by the clubhouse just to say hi and of course get a treat for our dogs. The maintenance crew of Jack, Andy, Nick and Jeff are the best. They are extremely responsive and take care of things promptly. We really enjoy living here and the staff is a big part of that. The location, amenities, the staff, and the people that live here make this an excellent place to live.
I'm leaving my old review for you to take a look at and to see how much it has changed here in such a short time. Recently, the overall manager of the place left and was replaced by an absolute horror. She has denigrated the staff to the point where every single person in the main office has quit. She is rude to them to the point where they can no longer work here. We have heard stories already from the staff that has left and just how terrible she is. It is so sad because the staff here was one of the reasons we love living here. When we met this new person she didn't even introduce herself. As we started to have a discussion with her about some of the things we would like to see change, all she did was talk about her experience in another place, talked about herself and basically made excuses why none of the suggestions would be considered. I was going to completely take my review down but I want you to see how much we truly have enjoyed living here. I hope that CWS upper management is looking at this because I can tell you I am not the only one that is unhappy at what has transpired in the last month or so. If you're treating your staff so terribly, and don't get to know your residents, will it be a matter of time before this place is not worth living in?
We absolutely love living here. The amenities are great, the community is awesome and the staff is top notch. The maintenance crew takes care of everything immediately as well. We are coming up on our one-year anniversary here and we are very happy we decided to live here. Also the grounds of the community are beautiful and well maintained. Also, if you're a dog person, there are plenty of dogs here and a tremendous dog park for them to play in. **UPDATE-we still love living here and the staff is the absolute best. We just signed a new 2-year lease and couldn't be happier. They're also getting Google Fiber here so now I'm very happy there are choices in my Internet provider!...
Read moreThe Marquis does not take resident concerns seriously.
In March of this year, I was living at the Marquis on Edwards Mill and unfortunately had my car stolen from the parking lot. I let management know immediately and encouraged them to inform other residents in order to stay vigilant. Keep in mind, they did reply directly to me, so my email was not simply missed. About 2 weeks go by and no one has been notified, so I reach out to the company that owns the Marquis to express my concerns. Within the hour I get a call from the front office. I again expressed my concerns to the woman on the phone, emphasizing that the police told me this is a growing issue in Raleigh. She responds with, "we don't want to spark any panic in the other residents." Personally, I would much rather be aware of what's going on in my complex than have a car stolen.
Fast forward to April, an email still has not been sent. I go to the front office to get a parking sticker for my new car (the one stolen was found weeks later, but a total loss). I'm asked if I still have the old sticker. I say no, it wasn't on the car that was stolen. The person I'm talking to replies, "was it the Kia?" No. Mine was a Hyundai, which leads me to believe that ANOTHER car has been stolen off the property. Once again, I urge management to warn people that this is happening close-to-home and city-wide. Nothing.
It doesn't end there. At the end of May, I came home to find police in the parking lot. They tell me another car was stolen. I'm furious at this point and happen to catch the office manager leaving. The resident who saw the car being stolen and called police is also with me. We told her how irresponsible it is that this is the second, possibly third car stolen in three months, and the Marquis has done absolutely nothing to keep residents informed. I guess something we said got through to her because an email goes out the next day. However, it only mentions the most recent car being stolen. I think it's also worth mentioning that while speaking with the office manager, we questioned why cameras have not been put in at this point. She basically said that the low-quality of the cameras did not justify the cost.
I could not get out of here fast enough and have had my employer take the Marquis off their recommended "places to live" list for new employees. Taking resident concerns seriously is also taking resident safety seriously, and that's something management here...
Read moreFor the past two weeks our AC unit has not been functioning properly. I’ve had to make several service requests for the men to come and not fix our AC unit and make rude comments about having to come over. My family lives at here as well in separate apartments so I assumed this would be a good place to move and I was wrong. Me and my boyfriend had nothing but problems the moment we moved here. We pay rent and apart of that rent is so that our utilities function properly and not to receive rude customer service. I’ve sent out multiple requests and the ac weirdly stays running and stays stuck at 72-73 degrees. The rude repair man who I’ve only had negative experience with just hung up on me and said he would not be coming to fix it that it’s not broken when clearly it is. Not only is this the latest issue but prior the lawn people had damaged my car which I decided to just let go because I’m trying to have a positive relationship with these people and the office but at this point so many issues I honestly feel like maybe it’s because we are gay that we’ve had such issues I can’t think of any other reason why because I have never been treated so poorly living at a apartment complex. I contacted the property manager he seemed nice but so far it’s just not getting fixed. They had us in the wrong apartment when we first moved here and told us the wrong information. We are no different than any other tenant here and should be treated with respect not distaste. My brother and sisters AC runs perfect at 67-69 and our use to until the last two weeks but it’s not broken??? Same heat wave excuse they live right across from me but that’s what’s causing ours not to work and just run and stay at 71-73 no it’s an excuse not to fix it which is your job. I would Have NEVER moved here if I knew we would be treated this way and by the device repair men. Any other apartment place that ever had that issue would come fix it and if they couldn’t they weren’t rude they were polite never have I put in a service request for a man to come over grunting about having to do his job and then just decides not to and to just deal with it and hang up. This is not a 4.5 or a 5 star place period and not just based of my experience. Your not about to take my money each month and treat...
