I placed a delivery order through the tropical smoothie app for two island green smoothies; one with added multivitamins, and the other with added energizer. Upon delivery, the driver (LaShun) asked me "How much did you tip me?" To which I responded, "There was no option to leave a tip in the tropical smoothie app, I'm sorry." I was prepared to give her a cash tip; however, her immediate demeaner was rude. She then hands me my bag containing my smoothies. As I get back inside, I open the bag to find USED bandaid wrappers and smoothies that appeared to have been tampered with. I immediately contacted tropical smoothie, where I spoke with Desiree. She stated that her manager was not in but would be back any second and would call me back. That was 8:39 AM this morning. I did not receive the call back, so one hour later, I called again. To which I was told the manager was busy, and that I needed to call back in 20-30 minutes. Another hour goes by, and I call again at 10:30 and now I cannot get through to their phone line for some reason. I am highly and extremely disappointed as I am a FREQUENT customer of Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Not only that, but this is DISGUSTING and a health hazard. It is not that I did not want to tip the driver - there was NO option in the tropical smoothie app and the driver was so rude that it made me not want to give her a tip period. Furthermore, the fact that management has not prioritized fixing this issue for me is frustrating. I am out of money with no smoothies, and no solution. I will not be returning as a customer.
Update: I called again at 1:30 PM and was able to reach a manager. He was never even told about me calling by the employees I had previously spoken with. Due to this, I place no fault on management. He handled everything AMAZINGLY and was very courteous and kind and friendly. He refunded me promptly and even offered to remake the smoothies personally. I am satisfied with...
Read moreI have an egg allergy & ordered the Spinach & feta wrap without egg but added bacon. The wrap had egg, no bacon. Luckily, I'm vigilant about my allergy & checked before I took a bite.
I also ordered a smoothie, adding spinach & chia to the drink. there was clearly spinach in it, but no evidence of chia at all.
Can't comment too much on the store (wasn't greeted & had no real interaction with employees since it was an online order.) There weren't a ton of employees at the front (3 that I saw) which makes me wonder if there are enough people on staff to truely give each order the attention it needs.
I was in a rush for an appointment so I didn't check before leaving the store. If someone from the store is reading this, I filled out the survey (validation code 35913). Also, if some one requests an item be removed, it is really important to remove it. I don't have an epi-pen (they're expensive) if I had taken a bite it could have been dangerous for me. I placed an online order at 10:53 AM, but my smoothie wasn’t ready until 11:21, after I had to check on it twice. When I finally received it, the smoothie was poorly blended, full of ice chunks, and almost impossible to drink. Waiting nearly 30 minutes for a subpar drink is unacceptable.
What made the experience even more frustrating was the staff. The three employees working seemed inexperienced, and there was absolutely no communication. To add to the chaos, there were clear sanitation concerns throughout the store, and no manager or franchise owner was present to guide them through what was clearly a busy Sunday morning rush.
