I love that this is a dog park run by people who seem to care. The entry gate is well done to help prevent escapes, and the amenities like doggy potty bags and trash cans were human-but-not-dog accessible. My dog is too snooty to drink the same water as the plebians (how did we get a boy who wants it filtered?), but free water is readily available. The parks contain many chairs and tables. The rules as outlined by the park were sensible.
My dog is typically a nervous (and vicious) wreck, and the way this dog park was set up allowed him to get acclimatized without being in danger. The small dog section is kind of cut out of the corner of the larger dog park, which let him see through the fence and smell dogs at the fence. Barrier frustration may become an issue for some dogs if they have that tendency.
The big dog park is enormous! There's plenty of room for them to roam about safely. Great place to play fetch with long throws, if your dog(s)...
Read moreBest dog park in Raleigh. Two enclosed areas for dogs to play. The small fenced area is huge and the large fenced area is big enough to have several doggie play dates, throw up a hammock, swing on the large wooden bench or break out a picnic lunch in the many shaded picnic areas. Doggie cleanup bags are provided, all things animal from lost and found to events around town are posted and water is available all over! The best part is the entrance where you can corral your dog one at a time and the sturdy metal latch that makes it easy to get even the most rambunctious pup inside safely.
Full bathrooms, close proximity to all major roads and downtown, lots and lots of trees and lots of area to roam, nestled in a quiet family neighborhood. Dog owners are courteous and kind. You won’t find any problems that can’t be handled with all of these responsible animal lovers who bring...
Read moreOur golden got attacked by a group of Husky immediately going in. At first, we thought they were just playing around, until one bit on her ear and dragged down. She screamed really loud and I had to forced the dog off her. One person next to me helped me control the Husky. The owner slowly walked up to us and said nothing to us. No apologies no reactions! He just asked the person holding his dog "What happened?" Later, one other dog kept biting the back of our dog. I tried stopping it and asked who the owner was. Nobody answered! The dog then kept barking at me after I tried to stopped it from biting our dog. We left after this after being there for fewer than 15 minutes. It was awful and we would never go back! One of the owners there told me he usually doesn't come to this park. Instead, he goes to another dog park where dogs are much...
