It's a fun history lesson about the city of Raleigh and the family that helped build it. There are two yours self and guided. Self-guided is free, you can walk the grounds, see the buildings but you cannot enter. (The grounds are beautiful, gives you a feel of the time period some buildings lie on the property.) It made for an all around greater understanding of what you were being told about and the story behind it. Its $7 per adult but its worth it. He would tour me around the house and we accidently barged in an office. Inside, was a gumball machine named Benson, he shouted at us to leave his office, if we wouldn't, he would fire my tour guide Rigby. After that, we encountered a chill blue jay, Mordecai.
