Bad customer service experience where one associate looked up the price for a light up goose and said it was for sale (had a barcode and tag) and listed it at $85 (extremely overpriced but I loved it and said I’d be purchasing!).I said I’d like to look around more and got a few other little things (somehow totaling $80+ but oh well i loved what I purchased). When I got back to the counter to settle up, I was paired with a different associate who said that the light up goose was display only and that the goose wasn’t for sale. I said “oh the other associate told me it was for sale and looked it up”. They went and looked at the goose then came back and said “no it’s not for sale” (and did not apologize). The other associate who told me it was for sale then apologized to her associate right in front of me! It was truly comical how poorly the situation was handled and I am quite sure (I at least certainly hope) the owner will be frustrated to hear this story that could have been completely avoided with some manners and communication. I ended up paying for the other stuff with a sour taste in my mouth which I now of course regret. I should have spoke up for myself in the moment. I won’t return the items I purchased but I also will not be returning to edge of urge…
P.s. I can’t say for sure but my instinct says it was for sell and then I ran into some power tripper employee (could be wrong just giving my honest...
Read more3 stars because I do think the items they carry are cute. Not 5 stars because I didn't feel welcomed. At all. When I first walked in, no one said hello to me. This didn't actually stand out until I noticed that the others that came in after me received a hearty greeting. I thought, "okay, I'm short, maybe they didn't see me." But then 2 kids shorter than me walked in alone, and were greeted. So then i started to have some feelings about it. I had an arm full of items I was excited to purchase as gifts, and I ended up putting them all back after none of the employees ever said a word to me. Until, after about an hour of being in the store ~ after I was hovering at the counter for the 3rd time, wondering if anyone was going to acknowledge my presence, one of the staff walked by and FINALLY asked if I was finding everything okay. It shouldn't take that long to acknowledge a customer! I contemplated saying something to the staff, but I didn't feel up for it. I felt very disappointed by my experience. I went to the wine shop next door and had a wholly different, very friendly and positive experience, so that helped me feel better about my afternoon...
Read moreLet's talk about the SELECTION at Edge of Urge! I am not much of a shopper, but when it's time to refresh, my first destination is Edge of Urge. I adore their dresses, skirts, and handbags. I love going here for accessories gifts for friends and finding funny + arty greeting cards as well. I have also bought a few EoU gifts from my husband over the years, from cool Vans to camping shorts (which he LOVED). I'm treated to their gift cards most every birthday and Christmas because my fam knows I'll find a new treasure. They even make their own perfumes, which are out of this world. The branding is on point and my in store experience has always been just right. Now that I'm buying online (hello cute masks!), I couldn't be more pleased with their efforts in swift shipping and the extra thought it takes to add a sweet note...
