State Archives of North Carolina — Attraction in Raleigh

Great resource for NC ancestors. Has some resources for surrounding states as well. Be sure to sign up for a free library card prior to visit which will help in the library also in the building. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. You cannot bring in pens, only pencils. There are lockers for valuables. The only negative is the parking. I had the opportunity to request a will (1907) from the archives. Isabel Bossing helped me and did a fantastic job. For one of the original colonies this archives is really sad and very small. Either they don't have much of a collection or the staff just aren't interested in being helpful. One of my worst archives experiences ever in the US. Don't recommend it was a total...
