Wonderful experience! We got parking in front of the museum. There's no charge to enter. We did make a donation. The museum is clean, well lit and in very good repair. There were only a small handful of interactive experiences that were not working. On the first floor is an exhibit entirely dedicated to the history of North Carolina. It starts with the indigenous peoples, through the arrival of Europeans, the Civil War and arrives at present day NC. The third floor houses the NC Sports Hall of Fame as well as temporary exhibits. There was a 1920s drug store and an exhibit honoring David "Carbine" Williams, inventor of the M1 Carbine used by US soldiers and Marines in the Pacific during WWII. There is a current exhibit around archeological digs in NC's Great Dismal Swamp. The last temporary exhibit is about NC tourism from the 1930s to 1970s. One thing of note is that all voices can be heard here through all the exhibits. Its wheelchair accessible. We spent a good 4 hours there. It was time well spent. When the exhibits change,...
