Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh Downtown — Hotel in Raleigh

I had a disappointing experience during my recent business trip. On the first night, I struggled to sleep due to loud music and bass coming from the nightclub next to the hotel, which went on until midnight. To make matters worse, there’s a fire station nearby, and loud sirens blared through the night, further disrupting my rest. I asked the front desk to move rooms, but they were dismissive and told me to check back in the morning. When I asked if they had earplugs or a sound machine, they laughed and said the noise was “part of the downtown experience” and offered no help.

The next morning, I spoke with Vincent, who told me to check back in the afternoon. I had to leave for work, so I gave him my contact information and asked him to follow up if a room became available. He never called or followed up. When I returned that evening, Tony at the front desk was finally able to move me and was one of the few staff members who treated me with respect and professionalism.

Given the nightclub’s proximity, the hotel should provide noise-canceling solutions or at least acknowledge the issue. Aside from Tony, the front desk staff would benefit from better customer service training—especially at a high-end establishment like this. When I stay at Marriott properties, I’m consistently treated with much more courtesy and care.

This Homewood Suites by Hilton operates as a joint hotel with the Tempo by Hilton, creating a stylish and upscale destination in downtown Raleigh. The property has a great chic, modern vibe throughout. ​The amenities here genuinely impress. The rooftop bar was far nicer than I'd anticipated based on past experiences at other Hilton properties—it is very accommodating and beautifully designed. The lobby bar was also quick and featured a nice big TV. ​Our suite was nice and spacious, offering extended-stay convenience with a full kitchen setup, including a full-size fridge/freezer, cooktop, and sink, plus ample storage via an armoire. The shower pressure was also excellent. ​The complimentary morning breakfast was a bit small. While the eggs and chorizo sausage were fine, the "build your own" breakfast burrito station wasn't really to our taste, nor was the Belgian waffle station (though many people enjoy that). ​The Major Caveat (Noise): The only significant issue we had was that our suite was situated directly above a club. Staying on a Friday and Saturday night meant the club music was incredibly loud, and the bass vibrations could literally be felt in the bed. ​Recommendation: I would absolutely stay here again, but I would definitely ask to be on the opposite side of the hotel from the club. My family and I stayed here last weekend while in town for my niece's babyshower. This hotel is so beautiful and in a great location. Upon arrival Dewayne and the valet team where great. Quick service and directions on where to go. During check Samantha (Sam) was absolutely amazing. Check in was easy and Sam was very friendly. While we were checking in the line became long very quickly. I asked Sam if there was anyone working the front desk with her abd she Juan was. As the l8ne got longer there was no Juan. So I told Sam I would look for him because she was getting pretty swamped. Well Sam is a Rockstar as she checked people in by herself because I could not locate Juan and did not see him until hours later. Tisha was amazing and gave me and my husband a tour of the hotel where we were shown the rooftop bar even though they had not opened up yet. The following night Tisha was working the lobby where she made us some amazing drinks along with Al and Cierra. Everyone was friendly and attentive. My husband introduced me to Jeffery the cook at the hotel. In addition Tony, Sherrod, and Jahiem were amazing as well. If your looking for a great place to stay this it.
