I recently had a one-night stay at the Hyatt House, Seaboard Station in Raleigh. As a Hyatt Member, I received a relatively good price for one night. I initially booked a Queen room, but closer to my check-in, I was upgraded to a King Den room.
I was able to check in early and the front staff personnel were simply amazing. The Seaboard Station area is a quietly nested location with local shops, restaurants and other places within walking location to visit.
I had a pretty nice view from my room overlooking the outdoor pool. The room was spacious and clean, with a kitchenette. The amenities in the hotel were very nice and inviting.
There were plenty of seating areas around the hotel and eye-catching decor and artwork throughout. I stayed during the weekday, so I enjoyed the quietness and peaceful surroundings. The pool area was nice, although I did not care for the outdoor furniture.
There were some renovations going on outside as they were adding an outdoor bar area that had not yet opened. The Highrail Rooftop Restaurant was the highlight of my stay.
I visited the rooftop during the day and later that evening. It was located on the 7th floor with decent views of the city. The menu had some good selections, although the two alcoholic drinks I ordered were a light pour, and not worth the price.
The area with the firepit didn't have the most appealing furniture, and the pillows seemed dingy and dark. The service during the day was excellent, but later that evening when I went back for dinner, I had to flag the server down just to get basic essentials.
Overall, the rooftop is a nice addition to the hotel.
My only complaints would be that the shower pressure was not good and the lights ended up going out in the bathroom.
The facet on the sink also broke off and I had to deal with a broken knob.
They only offer a few standard tv applications (Netflix) so I could not log into some other apps to enjoy my shows.
I was able to do a later check-out being a Hyatt Member, so I was appreciative of the later stay.
I would recommend this hotel and location to others, and I do plan on staying at the Seaboard...
Read moreOur recent trip for Father’s Day weekend was a great one at this hotel. The hotel is brand new so it’s still in great shape and very clean. The only place that was “dirty” was out by the pool where a large group had camped out all day and left all their beer cans and cups as well as dirty towels all over the ground. We didn’t fault the hotel because we had been waiting for the group to leave so our kids could swim so we got out there right after they left not giving much time to clean up. The pool was colddddd but the kids still enjoyed it. It’s a very relaxing little area especially with the fire pit sitting area. We had a corner king den room I do believe and it was great. We had an awesome view of the restaurants area. The bed was comfortable but the pillows could have been better. Or at least been more of them. Breakfast was good enough, but definitely better than most other hotels we’ve been to. Once again the large group depleted most of the food once we got there so we were constantly waiting for food to be replenished, none the less there was enough options to get the job done especially for a free breakfast. Parking was easy enough. We parked in the garage diagonal to the hotel in front of Bad Daddy’s and walked out of the tunnel to the hotel and felt that was easy for a city type layout parking situation. The host at the front desk gave us a parking card to enter and exit the garage and we just placed it in a return box the last day upon exiting the garage where you scan the card. It was really easy for parking. Overall the experience was a great one at the hotel and we enjoyed our time.
Also another small thing, but it made an impression on me was the valet guy the day we arrived. He greeted and told us to have a great day every time we entered and exited the building and was just an overall good vibe the first day. (6/14) Wish I would have caught his name so I could have recognized him individually, so hopefully the hotel can narrow it down and he can get some...
Read moreI never felt so bamboozled in all of my life. This beautiful and expensive stay was the WORST. For starters we arrived here at 1030PM after all of our traveling and reservations else where, we were exhausted and it felt like a mental strain to call and complain. So we just gave them the benefit of the doubt but no it kept getting worse. It was so bad I checked the website for other rooms available that we could afford. The room took so long to heat up. We set the thermostat to 80 and left for an hour, came back and it was still cold. Once it started warming up in the room I thought finally I can take a shower. NOPE the water was whatever the word would be for under lukewarm. I thought hmm.. let's give it a minute it's cold out and I let it run a little NO DIFFERENCE. Then I thought I'll try in 2 hours..NO DIFFERENCE. We were forced to take cold showers. Went to sleep shivering and woke up to the room feeling like the pits of hell. Don't get me started on the master light switch situation. There are several light switches in the kitchen that control the main area..ok cool but then you have a master switch so I'm thinking cool I'll hit this and it'll turn off the main area and kitchen lights. WRONG two lights went off and then the bathroom and closet area wouldn't turn on. This was the most chaotic stay I've ever had. It completely ruined our Valentine's day. Our holiday tradition went out the window. No balloons, pictures, cake, decorating, movies and dare I say no romance. All we could do was huddle up and not freeze. I felt so defeated and stressed....
