Delany's Antiques, Fine Art & Unique Gifts — Attraction in Rancho Mirage

Visited this store for the first time while in search of antique decor for our houses. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted with a feast for the eyes of truly gorgeous high end pieces, all very thoughtfully displayed with each piece complimenting the next. I was impressed by the quality of the selection and the variety of eras and styles being sold, such as Art Nouveau, Victorian, Oriental, etc. The sheer volume of attractive wares was stunning, and it was a high pleasure to peruse the aisles of Delany's. I would have given 5 stars but I took one off for price/value as I noticed some items were inappropriately priced. There was a marble top 'antique Empire plant stand' for $425.00 that was not an antique, but a reproduction sold by the Bombay Company. Also, I overheard the sales lady quoting a price of $1,500 or $1,600 (I can't remember the exact amount) for a set of Fall of the Roman Empire books, which I was able to find and purchase on Ebay for $100 that evening. The owner, Bill treated us awful. We saw an item in his store and purchased it because he said he was having the chips and previous damage repaired. We bought the item based on him repairing it for just under $1,000. A week later we went in to pick it up. It wasn’t repaired. When I asked him about it - he yelled at me! He said “take it or I’ll give you your money back. I have plenty of people that want to buy it.” I couldn’t take it as, so I told him I’d take him up in his offer to refund me. He said he would, but that he could only refund it the next day. I asked why, and he said ok I’ll do it today. He ran the credit through on my card, but didn’t refund the tax. When I questioned it - he said he can return tax on Mondays only - but that I had gotten a good deal on items I had previously purchased! He kept my tax money which, is probably illegal. I’ll never be back and I need everyone that wants to business with this guy to know...

Great collection of unique pieces. Willie knows his antiques more than anyone I've dealt with before. Has been in the business for over 45 years and has acquired a once off collection of fine art, clocks and unique pieces.
