You aren’t a real New Englander until you have shopped a market basket. This one has it all: narrow aisles, constantly shifting grocery locations, a deli that is so crowded I refuse to wait for and often empty shelves where something as generic as brown sugar is totally sold out because… it’s Market Basket. Those may all sound like negatives, but it’s all part of the experience which I wouldn’t trade for any other store in the world. But all joking aside, the meats and produce are always fresh. The prices are the best. And the quirky staff always bring a smile to my face on a Sunday morning.

Marketplace has a beautiful setting with many nice stores. They have a plaza with grass (fake...hahahaha) which is very good for the kids and right there and then it is the ice-cream store. So I usually get my coffee first and sit there watching my kids playing. They have wonderful displays to take pictures for the Holiday Season.

Convenient prices, very helpful staff, the availability of a few products is unpredictable, not very strong on organic products (I make a second stop at Wholefoods), but it opens very early and offers more jobs to young people than scanning devices to customers, like at Stop and Shop.

Two stars are for the always well stocked and great variety of this store. Of course you can’t beat these prices anywhere.

Why do I not give more you ask? Rude employees. I have been coming here for a long time. Well before things went south and the change of staff went from helpful younger and older folks from the local area to..well this.

We have folks given an opportunity to work here and they act like you need to be on “their” time. I’m going to turn on Google translate next time I’m here and will certainly contact corporate after at least six months of shopping.

The job market is only getting tougher and there are some good folks out there who would love a job like this. Perhaps you should have a graduation day where the people here are free to go. Little exit package for them. Maybe give them motivation to better their lives instead of working the same way all day.

Not our fault they don’t want to be there. Seriously. Have hiring events at local high schools. Give younger people who actually want to work and gain experience the chance to shine. Instead of entitled children who speak rudely in their own language.

Was in line tn. And Miss Marta had to have a full blown conversation. Without putting any effort into scanning. Every item. Pause. Pause. Pause. I’m all for banter between employees. Keeps the spirit. But she’s acting like she is home having a nice time and we’re interrupting.

I’m so tired of this. Just please. Please retrain your employees. Consequences if they act out and then terminate without prejudice if they continue to be out of line. It works in most places of employment. Seems to be immune here. Shame. Real shame. Everyone here stresses...

Overall, this was a good market basket. They had more items catering to cultural people compared to the one in Rowley, which I frequent. However I had a huge issue with the in aisle customer service I said, “excuse me” loudly and three times to an employee walking down one of the aisles and she ignored me completely. I asked three different employees, including one employee at the customer service desk about the location of simple syrup as well as the cocktail syrups like grenadine syrup and they kept saying aisle nine and aisle six, but they weren’t there. after reiterating to a few other employees that I checked out these isles they recommended I go down those aisles even when it wasn’t there. I decided to go look for this myself cause I didn’t want to have to make another stop to another market basket to end up in the same situation. I found all the cocktail syrups in aisle 15.. it sucks that the employees don’t even know where half the stuff are in the supermarket and I spent 30 extra minutes looking for this when I shouldn’t have to. The people at the customer service booth should have a directory or a reference list as to where all the specific set of items are. I am just trying to be helpful so that you guys can make the experience better for...

I refuse to speak with your management staff who blatantly lie and then tell me I'm wrong.

$17 for previously frozen Delmonico steaks. That's a slap in the face. You can claim I'm wrong until you are blue in the face. Previous frozen cow meat is distinct.

I've worked with, around and served food for a long time. Frozen meat has a very unique texture. Frozen meat tends to taste more of blood, that is oxidized blood. The texture is changed as well. It loses moisture and is easier dry this Making cooking it a very delicate process.

Over priced meats and produce. Less than half an inch Delmonico steak is $9-$12 Per Pound. That's a no from me dawg. Tons of staff in the store but don't you dare ask for their help, they'll either ignore you or pretend that they don't speak English, You can try Spanish, Portuguese and Hindi if you speak it but mostly it's the same reaction, a odd look and no answer.

Also I tell all of your employees, that people speak multiple languages and it's infuriatingly rude to be bad mouthed and then laughed at in a language that a great portion of this world speaks. I'm talking about Spanish, particularly Spanish found spoken in Mexico...
