I love this little theater! It is run by independent owner and they show a variety of new movies with lots of family options.
Their concession stand now has adult beverages, sparkling water, and kombucha, which is a really nice change from only sodas.
It's a simple, old school theater. No reclining seats, no fancy lobby, no table service for food. But it's a small business that offers affordable ticket prices with new release movies in our little town.
Remember when you're reading some of these older reviews: businesses like this really struggled with the pandemic closures that went on for years in Oregon. They didn't have AMC or Regal money backing them and they are just now starting to recover.
Their hours change seasonally so be sure to check when they are open. You can always call their number and get the recorded message of hours and showtimes.
Millennials/Gen Xers, remember when you were a kid and your friends had jobs at the local theater? This is that place! The high school kids who work here are well-meaning and competent. If, as some other reviewer pointed out they aren't perfect greeters or seem "robotic", give them a break! This is probably their first job and they are learning. And hey, they showed up, which is more than a lot of adults do for minimum wage jobs these days.
While I like the fancy big cushioned-seat theaters around the county and the brew pub downtown, their ticket prices are getting expensive compared to the Redmond Theater.
So, if we want go to have a drink, get some popcorn, and escape from reality for a few hours with tickets that won't break the bank, this is where we go. Highly recommend this for a no-frills but comfortable movie...
Read moreWe arrived just before the advertised show time. The young man behind the counter told us that because other people weren't there for our showing, they decided not to play it. But if we wanted to watch another movie (a kid's animated movie, no less) for free, it was only 15 minutes in. When we declined and left, he locked the door behind us to make sure no one else came in.
I've been in poorly attended theaters before, but I've never heard of just choosing not to honor a show time because not enough people showed up. The price of our tickets, popcorn and soda would have more than made up for the little bit of extra labor we would have caused. The two kids behind the counter obviously just wanted to get out early that night.
I wasn't going to write a negative review, but the manager never responded to my email. Judging from another review, it seems like teenage employees have free reign there and the manager doesn't care about customer...
Read moreWhile the theater itself is clean and decently maintained, the overall atmosphere of employees is a vague disinterest. Apathy, if you will. I've also had several experiences where a film was shut off during the credits roll. The most memorable one was the first Cars film. There is about a 10-minute sequence during the credits showing what happened to the town after Lightning McQueen finishes his race. About halfway through the sequence, the lights came on and the film was turned off. Dead silence followed. About 90% of the audience was very upset. This is not the only film I've experienced glitches or issues. I've even had a film unsuccessfully play, and instead of a refund, I got a "that's too bad" and a "you can hop into another movie if you want". A refund would have been easy. Even a simple voucher entitling me to one free movie of my choice later would have satisfied me. All in all, I only go here because it's cheaper than...
