I am very dissatisfied with my overall experience at Mitsubishi Younker. While the staff members I dealt with were polite and professional, the way management handled my financing and refund has been extremely disappointing.
I was first helped by Mr. Gama, a very good and helpful salesperson who assisted me in Spanish, even though I donât speak the language very well. He was very attentive, and we were able to reach an agreement, and I closed a deal on a Mitsubishi Outlander. Later on, I was also assisted by Sharon, who was very polite and helpful as well, and the deal was finalized with the manager, Georgen, who was also very attentive. I have no complaints about any of them â they all treated me very well.
However, during the financing process, I financed most of the carâs value. The contract was not finalized with the first bank, even though they already delivered the car to me. Then, after some days, they came back with another financing option, but with higher costs, higher down payment, and higher monthly payments. They even called me saying they had âgood news,â but the good news turned out to be that I needed to pay more.
On top of that, at no point before signing the contract was I informed that the financing would require an exorbitant insurance coverage demanded by the bank â far above the standard coverage required by the state. Once this insurance requirement was added, the monthly payments became far higher than what I had made clear from the very beginning that I could afford.
This whole situation dragged on for more than 20 days. About a week ago, they asked me to return the car while they reviewed the negotiations. Since the contract was never finalized, I returned the car in excellent condition â cleaner and in better shape than when I first received it â along with all the documents, keys, and everything they had given me.
Before this, manager Georgen himself had told me that if the deal did not go through, it would be no problem to return my down payment. That gave me peace of mind during the process. But now it has been a week since I returned the car, and I still have no answer about the refund.
Since the deal was never completed, I believe I am fully entitled to have my down payment refunded in full. Unfortunately, some of the staff told me they might have to deduct interest or other charges, which makes no sense because the deal was never finalized.
If they released the car to me without insurance, that was not my fault. Unfortunately, while everything went smoothly at first, and communication with manager Georgen was excellent during the negotiation, once the deal fell apart, he stopped responding to my emails. For the past few weeks, I have only heard that he is âin meetingsâ and still have no concrete date or answer about my refund.
I am completely satisfied with the way the sales staff at Mitsubishi Younker treated me personally, but my low rating today is due to the lack of response from management regarding the refund of my down payment. I truly hope this situation can be resolved soon, and I would be happy to update my review once it is settled. I believe your reply is mistaken. The reason I had the car for 25 days was because the dealership allowed me to keep it. From the beginning, I asked if everything was fine with the contract and was told yes. Later, additional paperwork and insurance were requested â requirements that were not mentioned at the time of signing and that became unfeasible for me.
During this period, I faced personal issues, including my daughterâs illness and work delays, but I always communicated with the sales team and tried to resolve everything promptly. I returned the car honestly and immediately when necessary.
My concern is simply the down payment I made, which is significant to me. Since the financing was never completed, through no fault of mine, it is only fair that my money be refunded. Once the refund is processed, I will gladly update my review positively, as I have been satisfied with the overall service aside...
Read moreOn the miserably rainy late afternoon of 12/28/18 I purchased a 2007 Honda Accord from Younker Mitsubishi. I was so impressed by the professionalism and thoughtfulness of the saleswoman who helped me, Alisa Humic: The entire process took less than four hours, from the time of my arrival to when I finished the paperwork and was on my way home again. At one point she told me that she likes helping people, and my experience with this transaction definitely had that feeling. The price negotiation was brief, fair, and was done with mutual respect. You can feel good about doing business with these people, especially Alisa, who was the epitome of helpfulness and professionalism. Ask for her by name, you'll be glad that you did.
One caveat (which in no way changes my 5-star rating) is that if, like me, you are from out of State (I drove over 200 miles to see the car), make sure that you have with you a utility bill or something that proves that you are not a resident of Washington State; also, bring with you the title to your trade-in if you are the legal owner because Washington State's laws and regulations on out-of-state vehicle purchases, specifically the temporary license permits and the transferring of title of both the purchased and the traded vehicle are somewhat complex. My not having my title with me when I made the deal delayed my getting the title to the vehicle I purchased by at least an extra week. Again, no fault of Younker Mitsubishi, it's just a necessary state bureaucratic paperwork hurdle that needs to be navigated if you aren't a resident of...
Read moreHonestly would give this dealership 0 stars if I could. Bought a used vehicle from them and less than 2 years later it has needed more work into it than what I bought the car for. Not to mention I gave them a dollar amount I had in mind and they completely ignored me. Hid the total cost of the vehicle until after I had already signed. Oh did I say this was the 2nd car in 2 days I bought from this dealership? Scheduled a test drive to buy a Nissan and was denied the test drive and was not allowed to see the car. Came to pick it up and you could smell the cigarette smoke from outside the vehicle. They made me trade the vehicle in (less money than I actually paid for it) and then proceeded to lie to me about the cost of my new vehicle and the problems it had. Iâve now spent what it wouldâve cost to buy a brand new car on a car thatâs not even 15 years old. Needs brake calipers, tension arms, alternator, turbo, struts all the way around, water pump, thermostat, a radiator and timing belt as well as a new trunk latch and electrical work. All of this occurred within less than 2 years of ownership. It also had a vacuum pump done first 2 weeks of ownership. Furthermore, everytime I need to have work done on it due to the âextended warrantyâ I have to call them to have a release put on the vehicle so that a shop in my new state can work on it. Each time I call I am met with hostility and annoyance. This dealership sold me a lemon and would much rather me leave them alone than actually help me. Take your money and...
