If I could give this place 0 stars I would. On June 29th my boyfriend and I stopped at the gas station across the street from this golf course. As I’m getting into the passenger seat we heard a loud bang, a golf ball struck the passenger side mirror. We immediately grabbed the golf ball and went there to show them the damages. The employee gave us the contact information of the general manger. After contacting the general manager he claimed it wasn’t “his fault” and there was nothing they could do and to claim it on the insurance. The insurance will go up because he will now be considered a “high risk” driver and a deductible will need to be paid in order for the insurance to fix the damages. And the other option he gave us was to find the person that hit the golf ball and take it up with them. This company is not taking accountability for their lack of safety pro-cautions. There is no netting or fencing just golf balls flying into the street, houses, side walks and businesses. Even the general manger mentioned that this was a reoccurring problem and even his car window had broke before because of this. We asked if we needed a lawyer to handle this since they refuse to help us and the general manger said he would no longer speak to us since we “threatened” him with a lawyer. He refuses to give us corporates number or a higher ups number to get things figured out. This company is negligent and unsafe.

The neighbors are EVERYWHERE! I am not exaggerating. There were 3 people that crossed the fairways with dogs, one of which was pooping on the course. There was a man who stood in the bushes 20yards forward of the tee box on 15; we didn't see him until our second tee'd off. Even after we asked if he was trying to cross he said no and just lurked in the bushes. He then followed us up the hole. There was a man with his toddler biking. They were on the cart path pin high on a 200yd par3 WELL within the path of a stray. Don't believe me? I got a picture after they biked past us on our approach to the green. It seems like the neighbors want the course closed and are doing it on purpose. The course needs to manage it because it's horrible. Fence the entire course. It's only a matter of time before one catches a line drive. And it ruins the game. Not to mention the cart they gave us kept giving a check engine light and had to be push started at one point. The food cart drive by once when we were on hole 3 with a cooler tied to a normal cart. The round was over 5 hours. Two of the last holes look straight into the afternoon sun making it impossible to track your ball flight. Not coming back until they figure out how to keep the neighbors out. Maybe not coming back even after that. Definitely the worst course I've played in MD or VA and I've played almost all of them.

One of the Worst Courses in Northern Virginia Reston National is by far one of the most poorly maintained golf courses I’ve played — especially given the high price point. The bunkers are a joke, with grass growing out of them like they haven’t been touched in weeks. The course overall feels neglected, with constant gnats swarming you the entire round. Bring bug spray — and expect to reapply it four or five times just to stay sane. What really sets this place apart (in a bad way) is the constant interruption from kids running across the greens and fairways due to the nearby housing. It completely kills the atmosphere and makes it hard to focus on your game. Save your money and play almost anywhere else. This course isn’t worth it.

First time playing here at Reston National Golf. I've been wanted to play here for a while and I finally did.

I gave two stars for friendly staffs and great conditions for the course.

Our tee time was 5:48am because friends and I are usually play first tee time before go to work by 9am. Of course we were 3rd group this time. Still managed to play under 3 hours after skipping #3 and #4 holes but it was messed.

First of all, this course plays VERY SLOW. I can't imagine playing here during weekends. Most people played today have no course etiquette. I'm sure they know how to hit the ball but NO ETIQUETTE!

Second shot from #1 hole (middle of fairway and I had bright neon green golf shirts), we were waiting for 2nd group front of us to clear the green and then there was a golf ball bounced about 15 feet left side of me. This idiot tee off regardless we are waiting or not. I was not pleased. From FIRST HOLE!!!! I raised my arm and gave him my sign language.

Due to first group were playing very slow, we skipped #3 and #4 and tee off from #5. We played well and kept our pace rest of front 9. After #9, I was shocked how many cars were at the parking lot early in the morning. Drove cart by practice range and saw few people practice here and there and went over to #10 hole. #10 and #11 was fine until we got to #12. Holy hell.....at least 5 groups teed off from back 9. Few groups were walking, single, double and single group. I was thinking what was the point to have EARLY tee time and we had to wait every back nine holes???? And then this single lady wanted to go front of us. We were thinking maybe she needs to go to work or home? We were wrong, she teed off front of us and every shots she hits about 50 yards. O-M-G!!!!!! We told her she can't play front of us because we waited almost every back nine and she wants to play front of us? H to the No! I guess she was upset or she had to go, so she left after swing few clubs.

Reston National Golf Club, I understand you have to make money somehow but as I typing this I keep asking Q's ... WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING EARLY TEE TIME IF WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR PEOPLE FRONT OF US???????? Why are we waiting on people front of us when we were first group to tee off?????????If you let one or two group in back nine then that's ok. But seems like anybody can tee off either front or back. And this course has NO MARSHAL! Freaking annoyed how poorly this course was running.

I will play this course again if we can get early tee time on weekdays and let nobody tee off from back nine. I guess that won't happen so I might not...

The greens and the bunkers are in terrible shape. The greens are bumpy with at least two types of grass growing at different rates and thickness. About half the bunkers have been fixed but the others have no sand. I posted this review a few weeks ago and it's not showing up so I'm reposting it.

This is an old review under previous management.

After meeting with the general manager Scott last week I wanted to update my review and tell everyone about the great job the entire staff at Reston National has done in addressing the issue with the kids camp. I've played 3 times since the incident listed below and have had no interruptions in play by the camp. Thank you Scott and Shaun for the changes you have made that have restored my loyalty in Reston National. I also want to thank all of the staff at Reston National for all of the work you do that has produced such great golf experiences over the years! Dan and the food and beverage team have always taken great care of me and Jake and his groundskeepers have kept the course in the best shape in years.

I've been a member at reston national for over 15 years and today will be the last time I play there. The course is in great shape, except for a few bunkers and that is why I'm giving it 1 stars instead of 0! The kids camp is a disaster for anyone trying to enjoy a round of golf between 11am and 4pm! We make our tee times to go out before the camp and in the middle of the front nine they come rolling out disturbing people as they are hitting shots and then insert their groups in between other groups on the same hole! They send the kids out in large groups supervised by teenagers who are extremely rude to the paying customers and completely interfere with players who are already on the course. Then they back up the course that already has a full tee sheet! I talked to the Manager Scott and the Director of the kids camp Shaun and they are more concerned about the camp than the other paying customers! I've never been at a golf course that cares less about their paying customers than reston national! Go anywhere else to play golf at least until...

Reston National---Breathe of Fresh Air

I played for second year in a row in a tournament with my co-workers wife. I really enjoyed playing the course last but had much more appreciation and admiration for the course this year.

From the beginning we were greeted by the starter with a warm welcome. I knew it was going to be a great day. The friendliness didn't stop there. The two gentlemen working the Pro Shop were very professional and friendly. It was a Breath of Fresh Air!!!!

Snack Bar: The lady that was working that morning was very nice and professional. The food I had was great and very reasonably priced. They cooked the BBQ Pulled Pork and Chicken for our event and it was delicious. Thank You.

Course: The layout of the course is great. Not the longest but it challenges you with accurate tee shots to stay in the fairways through the rolling hills. The fairways were cut nicely and very distinctive from the rough. The aesthetics were very appealing. The greens were cut nice and not very fast. As long as you had time to practice on the putting green you will be okay. If not then it would take you probably 5 or 6 holes to get used to it. I would say the only negative comment I could make would be the sand traps. Now mind that we have had a longer Winter than normal and it has been raining a lot. However, I think some of them needed more TLC. I really enjoyed this course and like the title states...Breath of Fresh Air!!!! I can't wait to come back and try the golf hoover boards. Should make it a little challenging and work those core muscles.

Returning Customer: I cannot wait to come back and play the course as an individual but I truly took the sites of the course in yesterday. I will try to convince my friends to come out. We usually play from Laurel to Fredericksburg because most of us live around this area.

Thanks...
