1 star is a stretch. So many things were broken at this place. Let's start with the garage gate. I lived there less than a year, and it it was broken or not working every SINGLE month at least once. Outdoor elevators, you guessed it not working the day I moved in. It caused my movers to work an extra 3 hours that I had to pay for. I don't recall the managers name at the time, but he was worthless. Living there a month, my wife gets stuck in the outdoor elevator without her cell phone, hits the help button, NO HELP ARRIVES!!! Turns out the call box goes to some call center in Indiana or India. They call the worthless manager, who doesn't take the call, because he was in a meeting. Yes that's right the EMERGENCY CALL button in the elevator calls the manager's personal cell phone. The only reason help arrives is that another resident heard my wife yelling. I opened a case with licensing board with the State of Texas, I may be testifying at a hearing. The outdoor elevators aren't working at least once per month. 5th floor outside door never locks, which was an issue because anyone could drive into the parking deck because the garage gate is broken at least once per month. Skip the Anthem at all costs. If you want City Line there are much, much, much, much better options. Oh and they charge me $80 for wall damage from hanging pictures. Patched and sanded them, but just one more example of a reason to go elsewhere. The Riley across the street looks very nice. You should check it out or put a Yurt in the dog park next to the Anthem, you will have a much safer and better experience.
Update 5/14/19
Lindsey thank you for the response, but it is more than clear this is pre-formatted response and quite ridiculous. If you had taken the 5 minutes to look in your records you would have noticed I moved out in March and you may have even discovered the forwarding address I left is 5 hours away in another city. It is on the lease termination form right next to the $3K+ fee I paid you to terminate my lease. So thank you for the offer, but I won't be spend 10 hours of drive time to stop by and discuss my concerns.
It is pity you couldn't take a few minutes for a truly sincere and authentic response, but it is in line with the general divisiveness and apathy I have experienced from the staff at The Anthem.
I do want to thank you for the $6.59 electricity bill you sent and even more for the $50 "Recovery Fee". I'm sending a check for $6.59, if you feel you deserve the other $50, drop by the forwarding address I left you and we can discuss.
Please anyone considering moving into The Anthem, re-read this post and consider other options. Maybe live in your car or couch surf. Lindsey has provided a perfect example of perfunctory nature with which the deal with their residents.
Update 6/14/19
I am truly amazed at the continued lazy incompetence of the management team at the Anthem. I took the trouble to write the management team a letter requesting justification for the $50 fee they charged on a $6.59 electric bill.
In only 1 month, I got what I think is a reply. I think, only because they didn't write a response, but rather sent a copy of the lease agreement with some highlighted sections. Now mind you I did request a response via USPS mail. However, you would some on the management team had a good enough command of the english language and also had a pen and would have composed a short note explaining how the suggested we move forward. Unfortunately that was not the case.
For anyone thinking about renting at The Anthem, please reconsider. See the effort they put forth on minor tasks (like returning a letter), consider how they will handle something important like elevator maintenance.
Seriously, there a LOT of nice places around Cityline. Choose...
Read moreI truly hate living here and I’m saying this as a current resident. I accidentally paid my rent twice. I called Real Page since that is the platform that is used for us to pay rent and they told me to contact the leasing office so I can get my money back. I called the leasing office and they told me they have no way of sending me the money back. I called Real Page back and they told me the leasing office can absolutely return your money because they can not keep your money. I know they could have but they refused and I had to take a credit for next months rent. Insane !! Elijah is the most unprofessional/rude person I’ve ever encountered. Anytime I call the office or go down there he seems so bothered and uninterested in helping you. I have also witnessed this man yell at someone in the leasing office for asking about his lost package. This man has no care in the world for the residents. AJ seemed nice when I first moved in but over time he has also become snappy. Every resident is not problematic so please be polite when speaking to us…after all we are paying a high price to live in a cardboard box. That brings me to my next point. The noise in these apartments is absolutely ridiculous. I was sitting in my living room one night and heard the man next door snoring. The residence here have no consideration for those around them so you will hear yelling, music, stomping, cabinets slamming all through the night. That does not even include the noise from the restaurants right outside. The leasing office also does not do a good job at notifying us when people have to come into our units. I was out of town one week and saw a man come into my apartment on my Ring. He just knocked and then entered, never announced who he is or why he was there. But because of the angle where he was standing I never saw him use a key. You can only imagine how terrifying that is for a women. But again the leasing office does not care about safety. The gate is always broke. The doors that require key fobs are broke so anyone can just roam around. I was told the security cameras are always recording but then I was told by a different member in the leasing office that they only live record and the footage is not saved???? What is the point of having security cameras if you can’t go back and watch footage ! I highly suggest looking elsewhere. I regret my decision moving...
