I was disappointed. With such long waiting lists, I had high expectations of the place. I actually was gymnast with Richardson Gymnastics when they were at the old Heights rec center back in the 80s and 90s. So I had high hopes for my kids. We do not live in Richardson, so a lot of classes were not available to us at all because the waiting lists were restricted to Richardson residents only. When a spot did open up, I had only 24 hours to decide. Because of the long list, I had put my child in another gymnastics place, so there was immense pressure to choose between the two places. There aren't very many classes available to us so if a scheduling conflict arises, I have to pull my kids out completely and not be able to just change classes. That is not a very good business model. It seems you'd want to keep the same people as much as possible for continuity in learning the sport.
While I did think the classes are run well and the coaches seem to know what they're doing, I was disappointed by the front staff and their coldness. Anytime I had a question, rather than being greeted with a pleasant smile and willingness to help, I was greeted with a "What?!" and a snarl. I do like that the prices are so low, which is probably why the waiting lists are so long, but because of the long waiting lists, it's like the staff doesn't care if people leave because someone else is there to take their place.
Overall, I'm just disappointed by the utter lack of caring about individuals that I was met with. It really did not meet my...
Read moreI attended a private party here with my 4 year old. We had never been here before so he was a little anxious about all the activities. I was standing at the edge of the wall to help him feel safe in the room. He was participating with the children on the other side of the gym. One of the young staff members aggressively approached me and very rudely told me in no uncertain terms I needed to leave the gym immediately or remove my son from the gym. I thought this was unprofessional as well as insensitive to my young son. This could have been communicated in a gentle and welcoming way. The rule was not communicated to me when I entered the center. Seemed very peculiar for a private party. We will not be returning as the staff doesn’t seem to be interested in creating an inclusive...
Read moreAmazing facility. I have never been to this location because I’m a guy over the age of 10 and after that age it’s pretty uncommon for gyms to accept you unless you’re a coach. Besides that really functional gymnasium to play around on and learn new tricks. I recommend the facility to start a open gym. Maybe once or twice a week for all ages, where everyone can learn from on another in an appropriate fashion. You can also have memberships for this, or do like a 10 dollar entrance fee. Please take this into consideration I know that you have an outstanding building, with a very modern look. Use this opportunity to expand your...
