I heard a lot about this place so I decided to go check it out as I was looking to cater for a birthday party. I was really very very disappointed. FOOD- Bland -Brisket seemed like was boiled not smoked, Brisket was dry , had to use BBQ sauce , a lot off it to get / make it edible that is how bad it was. The food line just did not look good at all NO VARIETY. they had Mac and cheese, and potatoes and cheese ( need I say more on variety), they had sweet Beans and regular baked beans, and Broccoli . The Texas toast was toasted on 1 side and was cold, all of the food was cold as the meats were wrapped in plastic and sitting on a cutting board. With all the other meats and sausage, chicken and Turkey , a food hazard if the food Health department came in they would throw all the food out and fined these people or shut them down. Service - the people working behind the food line ( Mexicans) were very friendly ( did their job) Atmosphere - McDonalds has better...
Read morePossibly the worst BBQ I've had in my entire existence. The brisket is dry and disgusting, possibly boiled or has just been reheated five times a day for a week. Whatever it was, it wasnt fresh, smoked, or even cow(?). I wish the sauce was able to redeem this meat, but even that was below average. The sauce is watered down and just God awful, it tastes like ketchup and water. Even the potato salad reeked. I can't believe someplace could call themselves smokehouse BBQ when they've got neither smoke nor BBQ. Also, they only have Mac and cheese on Wednesdays and Fridays...God knows why. And if you're looking for corn on the cob, they don't have it. This place is an embarrassment to Texas and to all authentic smokehouses in the state.
I will never even come in the nearby vicinity of this place from how appalling and unappetizing, unfulfilling, and un-BBQ this...
Read moreIf you look at the menu online, you will experience sticker shock upon dining at Texas Smokehouse. Those prices are from 2016, so the daily specials went up to $16 and change. I visited on a Tuesday and that meant I was having Pulled Pork. The server was generous with the portions, but that couldn't save it from being too dry. It wasn't bad, just not as juicy as I like it. Texas Smokehouse has one sauce, and it's tangy and flavorful. You get two sides with the Special plate so I opted for the green beans and cheesy taters. Those taters were yummy, and I immediately wished I'd served myself more. A piece of Texas toast and a drink rounds out the rest of the Special. I managed to resist the desserts on offer (but that cobbler looked mighty fine). I will have to return some time to try the Brisket. Not bad, even at...
