My friend just shared a similar experience with me, which compelled me to leave this review. I used to shop here once a week, sometimes more. However, now I only stop in this store MAYBE once every three months. The quality of the items has declined, but the prices have increased, sometimes by an unreasonable amount for broken, damaged, super old or clearly very worn items.
Most of the employees are very pleasant, accommodating and nice. What really stopped me from coming in was the very rude and often unprofessional and unpleasant male “manager” whose name starts with V. If you shop there, you know. Let’s refer to him as “infant” because it nearly rhymes and seems appropriate.
He is abrasive, arrogant, rude, feels like he has some sort of authority over you and acted (how I felt was) completely inappropriate with me. It was very obvious to me that he was following me around the store for most of the time I was there, which was confusing to me, but whatever. However, as a female, I do not appreciate him banging on my dressing room door while I’m UNDRESSED, yelling for me to get out “because they’re closing in 15 minutes.” I had been in there for 2 minutes with only three items! I also don’t appreciate that when I did come out, he was waiting there for me and immediately bombarded and accused me of stealing a shirt before I entered the dressing room and said something like, “if you’re caught again, you’ll be banned from the store.” He told me he had “video evidence,” which is an outright lie (because it doesn’t exist!)
He didn’t even apologize when I put the shirt on the put-back rack that he had just accused me of stealing. I left my cart there, didn’t purchase anything and left the store in near tears with extreme anxiety. Unacceptable, disgusting behavior from a MAN who works retail towards a WOMAN and PAYING CUSTOMER who has spent hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars at your store. It’s no surprise to me overall that this store can no longer find employees to be able to stay open past 6PM.
No longer choosing to give them my hard earned money is no loss to me. DO...
Read moreI love this place! I went once when I was in middle school and I just didn't understand the whole concept of buying used stuff...but that all changed last year when I moved into my first post-college apartment and had to buy a bunch of stuff for it. I went once just to see what they had and I was surprised by the amazing variety. Then I was quickly hooked and started going almost every weekend. I've toned it down now to around once a month. It can be fairly hit or miss, just like all thrift shopping. Sometimes I'll spend 45 minutes there and walk out empty handed and sometimes I'll spend 2+ hours there and walk out with multiple bags full of new-to-me treasures. I have gotten some really great stuff here, like some Waterford crystal glasses for $0.70 a piece and a vintage suitcase in almost-perfect condition for $2. I've found some good stuff to repurpose too, it's a great store if you're into that sort of thing. On Sundays they have specials on clothing and each week they have 50% sales on different colored price tags (green tags on sale one week, yellow another). In the month and a half leading up to Christmas they have a huge Christmas section setup. The good stuff goes really fast but I was able to find some nice ornaments (some vintage) for my tree and some beautiful scandinavian decorations too, but most of the Christmas stuff is really picked over so don't worry if you don't find something you like. Almost everything is reasonably priced, sure there is some stuff that could be priced less, but hey, it's for a good cause so if I really want it I bit the bullet. Basically, I love this place and, like any thrift store, it's hit or miss so you've got to...
Read moreImpatient and unprofessional. Fussed at a lady for not standing exactly where the sign showed to stand while they were checking out someone. This sign shows line starts here and to put hangers in a box below. When we get up to the line, we, with someone else behind us, were putting our hangers into the box as asked and clearly enforced by the power tripping slicked pony tail employee. While we and the group behind us were removing our hangers, we were told “we can help who’s next”. I motioned to give one second as we were obviously occupied with removing the hangers as the sign asked. Despite seeing my motion, they repeated even louder. I made eye contact and did it again, only for pony tail to shout it again and roll his eyes and check out someone else who wasn’t in the “line”.
So in total:
Employee power trips over woman not standing in line Employee power trips over us standing in line removing hangers, obviously occupied. Employee then skips the four total customers in line to ring someone else up who did not remove their hangers.
Have a better day, please. For the sake of...
