City Sports Club — Attraction in Richmond

POOP and ROACHES Again! 9/5/2024 - went to City Sports in Richmond today only to see diaper filling and poop in the pool! So of course this is at 5 AM in the morning. Had to turn around and go back home. The British swim people are awful and never insist their clients wear the correct swim diapers and make sure the pool is clean from poop before they leave. This is so disgusting and happens far too often this has been like the fifth time in a year. So disgusting! Next after 3 1/2 long months, there are still ROACHES in the men and women’s shower areas. They keep hiring nonprofessional people and it’s just not working. You can’t use raid roach spray and think the roaches will be gone because they won’t! They just come right back in a couple of hours. The person City Sports hired, has supposedly been there 3 times and no positive results. Enough is enough and it’s time they shut down the gym, and fumigate the place correctly in order to get rid of the ROACHES! Worst place ever, wish we had somewhere else to go.

7/30/24 Richmond City Sports - And still the ROACHES rise! After shutting down the pool for an hour again on 7/18/24, there are as many ROACHES as ever! Stop hiring your friends and hire a real professional company to do what is necessary. Enough is enough!

7/15/24 Richmond City Sports - ROACHES straight out of Richmond City Sports! I’m told it takes 2 weeks before the ROACHES 🪳 are gone! Don’t believe that, but I guess we have to wait and see. Problem is, after the exterminator came, I haven’t seen not one DEAD ROACH! So who’s kidding who? Smh, truly disgusting and disappointing to constantly see ROACHES everywhere every day!

7/11/24 Richmond City Sports - Still ROACHES! I was told an exterminator came yesterday between 5 to 6 am, and there are still ROACHES! Please consider using a PR0FESSIONAL exterminator company! Not someone who obviously 🙄 doesn’t know what they are doing! Richmond, City Sports, should be closed down for two days, and the place should be fumigated professionally. In the locker rooms and both men and women shower areas. How long are you going to play this game? I have pictures. ROACHES the very next day, unbelievable!

7/9/24 Richmond City Sports - It’s a ROACH Fest at Richmond City Sports! More ROACHES y’all, no exterminator no one cares! We should not be subjected to this disgusting situation. Also, the shower close to the pool is really disgusting, pink and black mold, and mildew hasn’t been cleaned in days! Neither has the floors around the pool been cleaned. You can see bacteria forming so don’t walk on that nasty floor barefoot because you are certain to catch something!

6/24/24 - Richmond City Sports @ 5 am, Well now City Sports has ROACHES 🪳 I killed roaches last Thursday in the women’s shower and my husband killed roaches 2 days in a row! It was reported last week, but of course as usual NOTHING has been done. ROACHES are also swimming in the pool! Also as usual, the women’s shower area was filthy! How much longer do we have to put up with ROACHES and daily filth?? DISGUSTING and DISGRACEFUL! Nasty nasty place. Would rate a...

I'd say by far this is the worst gym I've ever been to as far as cleanliness. I can tell they don't have a 24 hour on staff cleaner in here like most upper class gyms. They have no towel service. They have zero spray bottles. And on top of that around the whole gym if somebody sweats all over something, you could quite possibly get hepatitis. Or any kind of infection. I mean the facility looks great, but the staff sucks. Nobody maintains this place. It would be a great gym. If they would have at least somebody here the whole time it's open keeping this place tiptop and clean. I used to go to another franchise of these gyms years ago, and I mean you had NBA players going there, they always had somebody cleaning constantly the whole time you were here, you had spray bottles and paper towels all over the gym facility so if someone stopped using a machine, you could literally spray it down and clean it with the paper towel before you sat down. I mean what Gym or I should say full service Gym would have zero Towel service and not even a one spray bottle or paper towels around the whole gym so you could keep yourself from getting any kind of infection. People sweat. I am an avid gym member and I have multiple memberships at different gyms. I come here because it's convenient closer to my house, but I go elsewhere regularly. Don't know if I'm keeping this membership. This is ridiculous. If I keep coming here for a while, I will keep adding photos and date them every time. I see something here.

Updates: 05/31/2025 bathrooms still a wreck. Also noticed there are no air filters in ANY of the air intakes throughout the whole gym. So everyone is breathing the same bacterial microbe infested air. Posting a few of a bunch of photos I took. Look for yourself. Dirt and dust all up in the vents. No filter.

Me and my husband just recently joined this gym and we are so happy to have found this place. It’s mice that they have so many equipments to choose from. We are very happy to exercise here though we go there atleast 3-4 times a week due to busy schedule.

Recently I have encountered a very rude and unprofessional trainer. Her name is Lisa. Being a novice and know nothing about gym working. She approached me with her rude attitude and asked me “how many steps are you still gonna do?” I thought this is what I heard but once again knowing nothing about the gym world, i heard it wrong because she was asking me how many sets. I told her I don’t know because I’m not counting it and I’m just resting for a little bit. Then she said “you’re obviously texting” which is just all her assumptions. I am not texting but I’m watching a video in YouTube only for few minutes because I just run (used their other machine) and I’m out of breath. By her look, she doesn’t care. Then she told me she has a client waiting for the equipment so she asked me again how many sets. I saw people about them looking at me and laughing. Lisa was very rude the way she approached me. She acted like I don’t have the right on that equipment and I should go. I feel embarrassed for no reason because I saw people laughing. I got her name and went to the front and then I was pointed to talk to their director. He listened and supported me coz all I said was the truth. He was kind enough to offer me a free personal trainer, I said it’s not necessary because we’re not always at the gym..all I want is for him to talk to Lisa, hoping it won’t again to me or other customers.

My husband talked to Lisa personally with her manager. Don’t know his name but according to my husband, Lisa was just really rude. The way she talked to him is not on a professional level.

One thing for sure, Lisa was the kind of person who will discourage you. Now, I don’t know when I’m coming back..I just don’t like to see her again..or those people who are laughing..

But all in all, great gym..just one...
