Terrible customer service. I went in for a portable AC yesterday, that showed 28 in stock on their website. Went on a Tuesday afternoon to grab one. I was directed by an associate to the back of the store where portable ACās were. I was told an associate would be with me momentarily, since the ACās were locked up in the bay. Ten minutes later, I was still waiting.
I then stopped an associate walking by and showed him the specific item I was looking for. He told me to wait in that area too. I told him not only did no one come but I also didnāt see the specific AC I wanted in the locked up bay. He looked at the item on my phone again and directed me to the self-checkout area at the front of the store. I thanked him and went on my way. Once I got to where he instructed me to go, I did not find any of the AC I was looking for.
I went to find another associate. I found two others, one of which was the man who had just directed me to the self-checkout area. I told them what I was looking for was not on the floor. The same man, told me to go back and check again š The second man with him said heād help me instead. Sure enough, he went to the self checkout and confirmed none were there. We then walked around to several aisles to try to find it, in which we had no luck. Not once did anyone suggest they check back stock. At this point, Iād been searching for over 30 minutes for this AC.
As I was fed up and walking out of the store, I pulled out my phone and ordered the AC for store pickup. Itās 10 am and I just received a confirmation that my order is ready for pickup.
While Iām glad I will now have my AC, I will no longer go to this Home Depot. This is the worst of the several experiences Iāve had. I didnāt even mention the time one of their female associates made me cry for not knowing where the line to return lanes began. Iām new to the area and was unaccustomed to their store layout.
It goes without saying this stores customer service is awful. Iām giving this place on star for the kind ladies at self checkout that assisted me with an item that did not have a price tag on it. I know my business is not needed as they do fine on their own but I will never step foot in this location again.
Home Depot- donāt bother sending me a generic, robotic response saying you appreciate my feedback and how it helps improve customer experience. Itās a load of crap and does me and other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile I always buy at my local hardware store when I can because I like them and like having the maximum choices available, there is a lot to be said for huge parking lots and heavy duty carts when you need to buy an industrial strength shelving unit or two that weigh 86 lbs apiece and the only time you have available is after everything else in the day is done at, say, 9:30 PM. I find myself wandering the rows and frequently picking out yet another of their extremely high-value-for-the-money tool bags to organize just about everything portable since the days of being able to leave really anything in one's car are probably gone forever in urban California. Great selection of both hand and power tools if you need to feel it in your hand or at least see it in the packaging before buying, and HD has totally mastered the integration of combined web and in-store marketing. Alas, I find I might have to visit different stores to get the exact tool I want or fall back upon on-line ordering due to the sad realities of loss prevention in the here-and-now, but I can do that and I do like having the right tools. You would be surprised at the high level of expertise you can commonly find among the staff of any store if you just ask. The deep stock allows me to find, for instance, the correctly rated circuit breakers I need to maintain listed code ratings, a really nice yet affordable stainless steel sink fixture to replace one that is corroding out, and I can find out how to navigate the replacement screen door availability choices or how to ask for a cut-to-fit set of blinds (note: the selection means you can also buy a nice but really inexpensive sink fixture that will corrode out if you like). When I encountered a mess of a sink trap that someone tried to solve with a mile of Teflon tape and I didn't even know what I needed, a staff member laid it out for me, marched me over a row, and two minutes later I had in my hands the adapter that went from this thing to that thing just the way it was originally intended. Not every associate might be as expert as that, but there is something about the staff both individually and collectively that I like. Despite the vastness I don't find the stores daunting. Finally, I almost hesitate to mention that they always have clean, working bathrooms in this day and age - how...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHome Depot has good things & bad things. What provoked me to write this review is my experience in buying blinds. It is a 1 star experience. I have had good experiences.
My 1 star blind experience: We shopped around. Our project was priced at as high as $4000 (with some sort of a discount to as low as Home Depot's $500. The next lowest was $900 & $1500-2000 was more common. We bought Levolor model Riviera. We were promised delivery inside 2 weeks.
On day 8 I asked for the tracking number. HD told me that they are sorry but they deleted the order (even though I paid). They said that they will reenter it. I asked them to rush it & they first said they would try. Later they said that Levolor refused to rush the order. HD offered us a $50 refund & eventually offered a $100 refund which we accepted.
We received the blinds in about 3 weeks. Minus the BOX type brackets that we insisted on. In fact, we later looked at the Levolor website & box brackets are the ONLY kind that they have. Except we received some kind of crimp on bracket. We spent 3 hours trying to make it work & failed.
50% of the blinds that we received were NOT the measurements that we ordered. Most of them varied by .125" but two varied by .25". A couple hang a little low but we decided to just accept them. The widths worked.
Again, even though this was a Levolor error, they REFUSED to rush our order. It was a Saturday. They said they'd mail them to us on Thursday. I said that brackets are not like blinds. They have to be sitting on the shelf. They should be able to mail them to us on Monday or possibly Tuesday. They said "no".
I protested to HD multiple times. They used their power & Levolor sent the proper brackets out to arrive on Friday.
HD also is short of helpful employees.
We bought a basin sink. It had a chip on it. Since our contractor was the one who purchased it & he was out of state, we thought he were cooked when we asked for an exchange. To our surprise the biggest obstacle was that they didn't know the model number. They happily made an exchange in about 40 minutes.
I bought plywood panel & they cut it for free.
They have the cheapest & best high power regular screw in LED lights for a home.
They have only a so-so selection of screws. Go to Ace.
The paint Dept & Behr brand are...
