Read moreWe are avocational archeologists. Well, maybe just rock art hounds who read a lot of archeology and have visited over 100 sites from famous to obscure. They were respectful of local tribes, obviously consulting with them in the process of designing the park. There has been a scourge of vandalism and theft at some relatively nearby sites - some full on antiquities theft. I struggled with whether the park should play some part in educating the public about this destruction of American heritage, but have decided that this is not really an appropriate mission here.
