Do NOT Book This Motel||||Clearly money is more important to Danny the manager of this motel, than abiding by federal laws and respecting guests health. Last night 10/20/24 he INSTRUCTED a guest who had just checked in, to smoke outside of her room door next to the door of a non-smoking room he knows is occupied by a non-smoker allergic to cigarettes and weeds smoke so that the smoke will enter that room through the door creveses and window and cause that guest to be sick. I immediately smelled it and got up and opened the door, there's a heavyset red haired woman sitting on a chair next to that door close to mine, smoking a cigarette, with a small black Dog standing across from my door. I call Danny from the room phone several times, no answer. I call from my cellphone, then he answers and after I tell him smoke is entering my room through door creveses and window and that I'm allergic; he admits that he intentionally assigned a person who he knows smokes, to the room next to my room and that he has no assigned/designated smoking area on first floor in parking lot nor anywhere down there. He nonchalantly says he'll 'talk to' the woman. ||||2. As I ask him why he therefore intentionally allows smoke to enter non-smoking rooms, he hung up in my face. I do not pay for disrespect; so I will not give this motel my money/my business ever again. I'm getting more sick, and he has not come up to that room; so unfortunately I'm forced to step outside of my introvertness and open my door again and ask her to stop smoking by my room because obviously smoke enters room, and tell her that my room is non-smoking. ||||3. She informs me that Danny TOLD her to smoke outside her door, and that her room is non-smoking as well. She agrees to go against his instruction and go downstairs to finish her cigarette she's still puffing on. I then had to open my door a few minutes later and widen my window open more, to air out my room. I now have a pounding headache and the other symptoms are beginning to kick in. ||||4. Now today 10/20/24, the power in the motel as a whole, goes out. Once it's back on, the internet is not working no matter what I tried; and I was in a live conference that therefore I got disconnected from!!! I call Danny but his wife picks up (they live in the office downstairs with their kid's) and so I ask her to re-set the router, and I inform her of what she obviously already knows....that the internet has not worked since the power came back on. It's now thirty minutes later and it's still not working. And, the password is not even working anymore, while otherwise the network list screen days 'Connected but no internet access'. How careless of them, and Damaging to their guests who's money they charged includes 24/7 high speed internet wifi. I'm still without internet access as I type this!||||5. There are many other issues this motel has, that I will point out in a...
Read moreGave it a go because I wanted to save some money and all we needed was a relatively clean place to sleep. First the positives: shower water pressure was good/ water was warm, the person at the front desk was friendly enough, and offered to change our room when it was dirty. Negatives: our room was very dirty (dental floss on floor, hair all over and in sink and shower, soap scum multiple places, wrappers to soaps etc left in both the sink and the bathtub). A housekeeper specifically told us the room was clean and ready for us before we entered— the floor was wet when we came in (from being cleaned— so it wasn’t like the room was accidentally missed or something) and sheets were changed/ clean towels out but everything else looked like it had been skipped entirely. Located in a bit of a sketchy area, person seemed to be living in car behind the building etc. We would have liked to use the rooms internal lock, but it was broken off of the door. Comes with mini fridge but it wasn’t plugged in and was hot inside so would have taken likely hours to cool. I think this room was worth about $40, not the $68 we paid for it. We stayed in Ridgecrest two additional nights as I unexpectedly became ill, and opted to transfer to the econolodge. It was $20 a night more and 100% better experience, I would go back there...
