If I could give this place a negative 10 stars, I would! My toddler (4 yrs old) had surgery there yesterday for her tonsils, hands down worst place to trust with the after care of your child😡 got a call from the doctor sounding irritated that he'd been waiting in the lobby for quite a few mins, told him we were told we could step outside (I had 2 of my other children with me). No one called to inform me he was "waiting" for me... Said surgery went great, no complications. Ibuprofen/Tylenol, I asked about a check up, was told we don't have you come back for check ups, we call🙄 first off WHY would you not do a check up after a surgery????! How are you supposed to know she's healing the way she is supposed to if you don't do a check up???! (Craziness to me), went into lobby he said they would be calling me back to go back with her shortly. was waiting no longer than 10 mins in lobby, they called me bk. She was freaking out, they explained that's normal after anesthesia. I asked bout why they only are giving her ibuprofen/Tylenol as medications, my oldest daughter had her tonsils removed a couple of years prior in Farmington, Nm and basically told them they did it a lot different & was wondering why pretty much. my concern was if she was going to be in pain & obviously don't want to see her like that and not be able to do anything bout it😩I asked what do I do if she's in immense amounts of pain? "Take her into urgent care", I explained to them ok, I'm asking because we are from Farmington and cannot just drive bk for a prescription. Nurses looked at me and said " we can ask, but he will not budge". Ok no worries, I just don't want to see my child in pain Is all. We were back there for maybe 10 mins tops, was told here is your paperwork (no one even went over anything with us/no instructions except take Tylenol). You could just feel the vibe of "ok go"... We started walking out with the nurse, I could tell my toddler was still really messed up from the anesthesia. I started panicking in my brain and overthinking so I asked the nurse what if she is to have a reaction? She said "we would of known within 15 mins of her taking it". Ok... So but what if she had a reaction after that??? My toddler was so messed up still she couldn't even say any words, could not stand up at all on her own. We didn't feel comfortable taking her in the vehicle yet, so we sat outside of the facility in the front for 30+ mins, she was standing for a second and almost fell on her head (her dad caught her by the shirt) thankfully. I honestly am blown away by how they treated her! My oldest daughter was not allowed to leave the facility when she had hers done here in Farmington until she ate a minimum of 2 popsicles and pushed some fluids, they literally handed me paperwork and then basically said ok she's ready to go. Like what??? Minimum amount of time is 45 mins-2 hrs to keep someone who has just had anesthesia! From the time I spoke to the doc, to the time I made it to the bk to my toddler it had been maybe 20-30 mins and she was just "ready to go". I mentioned MULTIPLE times we were from Farmington... What if something happened and she had a reaction while we were in the middle of no where because they basically just wanted to push her out of there😡 I will NEVER go back there, and would NEVER recommend anyone to go there. Absolutely worst place I've ever come across, especially dealing with a child! 4 years old mind you smh, I can't even imagine how many people this doc has already done this to, and should not be allowed to treat children. You guys should be thankful nothing happened to my daughter, because other wise you would have a lawsuit on your hands! Why are you even in health care and treating a child mind you this way???! DO BETTER👏 (her docs name...
Read morePainful, humiliating and dangerous. 8/2022 In regard to the Rust medical center. I spent one night in the ER and then was transported by ambulance from Kaseman ER to Rust one morning. It was "guessed" by them that I had acute pancreatitis because of an X-ray, high white cell count and location of pain. I did not have a fever. Any movement of my body shot pain through my lower back radiating throughout my abdomen. The ambulance ride was excrutiating. I was given saline, antibiotics, opiates, lasix and who knows what else for five days. These chemicals caused me to hallucinate and thrash around restlessly in my bed. I weighed 165 lbs when I arrived and weighed 142 pound when I left. They wanted to do an MRI so I was wheeled into that room. There were two small women there who tried to roll me onto a plastic board and then lift me onto the table. They were not strong enough to do this and caused me great pain. Before the test was to start someone came into the room and told them to stop the test because one of the drugs they were giving me was not compatible. Then came more painful movements as they tried to put me back on the bed. The only things I remember eating was three cups of Jello. By the third day at Rust I was looking like a bull frog and was swollen all over. I was being ignored or gaslighted by the nurses. When I kept complaining about the swelling a nurse finally asked when I last urinated. I could not remember. They did an ultrasound of my bladder and it was full. They installed a catheter and about 20 minutes later I was feeling burning along the catheter. I called the nurse and asked if the catheter contained latex which I am allergic to, and they know about. Incredibly she said, "I'm not sure, I will go back and read the package"! They came back and told me they were going to remove it and install another type. This was very painful and traumatic. They placed an adhesive pad on my upper inner thigh with a clip on it to retain the catheter. The next time I was awake I was feeling pain in my genitals. When I looked, my genitals were almost unrecognizable. The tube from the catheter to the collection bag had wrapped itself around my genitals strangulating them. The skin was the color of an eggplant and my penis and testicles were swollen three times normal size. The staff there had been neglecting me. Someone should have been checking the catheter. Finally, I had enough. I told my brother I wanted to leave. The staff there insisted I stay for two more days! They made me sign some papers, removed the catheter and I prepared to leave. Then they started pulling on the adhesive anchor on my thigh painfully removing all the hair with it. Before I left, one of the nurses came in with a hand full of intermittent catheters, handed them to me and said, "use one of these five times a day and we will send a referral to urology". It took about three weeks before the urology appointment. She was holding about ten catheters. She did not tell me where do go to get more, she did not teach me how to use them, nothing. If my brother and my sons were not there to help me I would not have made it at home. I decided to come home and die here if necessary in my own bed around my own family, and not in a horrible place like that filled with incompetent and dangerous strangers. I survived. I was constipated for years afterword and I had to have a prostate operation so I could urinate. When I first got to Rust medical I could urinate just fine. They damaged me. They exposed me to the expense and pain of a surgery I did not need because of their ineptitude and neglect. I generously give them one star, at least they...

ONCE AGAIN! GREETINGS LADIES AND GENTS:
FAST FORWARD TO FEBRUARY 2016: Once again the patient was transported by Rio Rancho paramedics. The "trip" was virtually uneventful and in spite of uncontrolled bleeding from the umbilical region the paramedics did a wonderful job of calming the patient and placing comfort at the top of the list. SCORE THE PARAMEDICS FIVE STARS!
Arriving at the Emergency Room the patient was immediately moved to the exact same room he was in on VISIT NUMBER ONE! A VERY vast difference was IMMEDIATELY evident; the room was NOT pleasing to the eye, it was NOT even close to being "clean" (FLOORS, WALLS EXAMINATION TABLE had certainly "aged" in the FOUR MONTHS since VISIT NUMBER ONE. The entire appearance was that suggesting a LOT OF USE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCED BY ALL THE EQUIPMENT.
Unfortunately the expected (and obviously badly needed) maintenance had NOT been performed; even more noticeable was the HORRIBLE ATTITUDE of the STAFF! There was no doubt it too had deteriorated quite significantly and there was little to no effort made to conceal the BAD attitude now on display!
The 'smiles' seen at the time of Visit Number One were nonexistent and interaction beyond anything MINIMAL involving nurse, doctor and/or patient were absent.
The attention to BASIC CARE (such as stopping the umbilical BLEEDING) seemed as if it was a "chore" instead of something of paramount importance! Doctors and nurses wandered in and out but did not seem to get much accomplished! It was almost as if the entire time spent in the "ER" was a 'chore' and NOT part of the career these individuals had picked as a vocation! They seemed disconnected from interaction with the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON in the room --- THE PATIENT!
Overall - on the "STAR SCALE" I would give VISIT NUMBER TWO NO BETTER THAN A "ONE STAR" RATING and a maximum of 20 PERCENT for OVERALL PATIENT CARE!
While they did eventually STOP THE BLEEDING - it was NOT a good experience at all; in fact it was TRAUMATIC AS HELL!
When discharged I REMAINED NEARLY AS TRAUMATIZED as I was when I made the paramedic ride to RUST! Hopefully I will NOT need to be presented to the Emergency Room again!
If by chance I should be - I hope and pray that the doctors and nurses from VISIT NUMBER ONE are "On Duty"! I do NOT believe those from the SECOND VISIT should be allowed to lay hands on patients! That experience could easily have left me as cold and dirty as the Examination Rooms to which I was subjected!
GOOD LUCK FOLKS! IF YOU SHOULD REQUIRE THE ASSISTANCE OF DOCTORS AND NURSES FROM RUST EMERGENCY ROOM I SINCERELY HOPE YOUR EXPERIENCE IS BETTER THAN MY SECOND!
Senile Old Man Donnie from Rio Rancho, New...
