Red Alert Skateshop — Attraction in Rochester

I came in here today without much real experience and this place was straight up awesome. I've picked up a board several times over the years, but I've never spent any significant amount of time at a skate park mostly out of the fear of judgment from the experienced skaters, but that's the exact opposite of what I got from here. The guys that work here are super down to earth and welcoming, and they had a ton of great advice. I ate it a good handful of times and they were nothing but reassuring. Park is super sick, but they are god awful at posting their times, whether the park is rented out, or if they open late. 3rd time we have driven 2 hours away to skate this park just to get here and see a sign saying there is a birthday party going on and can't skate until 3… Called 2 times no answer to see if they were open or not, now we find ourselves not skating and turning right back around. My son has been competing nationally in skating for a few years so we’ve been fortunate enough to see and skate many parks. They all have a different culture and I must say I’ve been pleasantly surprised by red alert. They have embraced the true essence of the skate community which is to support every skater at every level.
